Frankly I fail to see how placating Riley's concerns re: the incident in Mexico is going to cut it. Anybody with half a brain would instantly realise that what happened was as a result of something far bigger and not just some isolated psycho with a gun out to kill the Connors. Whether people want to accept it or not Riley's in it, up to her eyeballs.

Terminators don't try to hide their superior abilities unless someone really notices. Cameron had no problem lifting that big computer by herself when there were people around in "The Mousetrap." . She was a bit annoyed at John though, that time. In the lift fight, she tried to hide being a Terminator (and quite admirably succeeded, with the parents of the boy not really noticing anything important), so it would be curious if she would just be careless at other times. Cameron is definitely following what Uncle Bob said about learning from having more contact with humans. She could get all that information from the internet. It would be faster and it lets her stay closer to John. However, going to the library would allow Cameron to use more of her senses, especially when she's interacting with someone else. There is probably still a lot more (deep) info in specialised books as compared to the internet, where most info is quite superficial and also more likely to be not entirely correct. As for the description on one of the photos, it's not entirely clear to me if they mean that it is John who is confronting Cameron about being out all night (which is what Cameron is doing according to the ep description, and also io9's interpretation), or the other way round as the promo caption says (in which case, both John and Cameron are apparently doing "things" at night). Traitorsgate; Riley still is going to accept a story about killer robots from the future either, though. Would you, if someone told you such a story? She's more likely to assume that the Connors were involved in a drug cartel or something like that, or she may imagine some other explanation involving government conspiracies or such. The robot thing isn't going to fly unless they can prove it to her, requiring Cameron to give a "demonstration" I suppose.

Well the Connor's were happy to show Miles Dyson's wife/widow what the Bot's were, same with Charlie Dixon & Ellison. There all security risks that know about the Bots from the future and yet people seem to be obsessing over the fact that John Connor has a girlfriend who may need to be told.

So true TG so very true.
I think the fear is if she accepts it...and why wouldn't she.
Then she'd be a constant distraction for John.
That is why Sarah is likely very against it.

Dyson's wife already knew about Terminators. Charlie and Ellison at least knew that Sarah is an escaped fugitive and that she thought machines were going to take over the world. There's also the fact that, Dyson's wife, Charlie, and Ellison are all useful. Dyson's wife provided information about Andy Goode. Charlie saved Derek's life. Ellison helped them kill Cromartie. Riley has no clue about who the Connors really are and she has no useful information or skills. Plus unlike, Dyson's wife, Charlie, and Ellison, Riley can't escape and adopt a new identity.

I don't think Riley would be anymore of a distraction than any other female in John Connors life. That is to say if he is indeed going to be the leader of mankind then he needs to learn how to interact with Woman as they make up approximately half of the human race. Locking John Connor away in his Mother's basement might keep him safe in the short term but in all likelihood it will result in him being so hideously maladjusted that despite his knowledge he would simply be incapable of being any sort of effective leader. In order for John Connor to grow into a Man he needs to get out and take some risks, sod the potential risks. The irony is that it seems it's only John himself who seems to realise this. I'm hoping what we see from him is that he simply stands up and tells the others that if he wants to have a girlfriend then that's what he's going to do, and if they don't like it well - "The doors that way, don't let it hit you on the way out." Dyson's wife already knew about Terminators. Well frankly 95% of the human race is largely useless but there will come a time when out of necessity they need to step up. Question is at what point do you start making people aware. John Connor can't hide away in a basement until after Judgement Day and then magically pop up and announce that he's here to save humanity. One more thing a girlfriend/wife may not be experienced with playing Rambo but don't ever underestimate the importance of an emotional backstop for a soldier.

The problem with making people aware of the future before Judgment Day is that the people the Connors recruit have to be willing to relinquish everything they have. They have to be willing to completely forget their families and friends or else they would be an unacceptable security risk. In order for someone like Ellison to be a part of the "team," he'll have to forget about his ex-wife so that when a Terminator comes to kidnap her or replace her, Ellison doesn't try to run back to her and put everyone in danger. The only other option is to put his ex-wife into hiding but that still wouldn't guarantee her safety.
It's much easier to get people to fight in the post Judgment Day world because they have nothing else left.

Giving up everything is anothe nice religious allergory.
considering it's easier for a Camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a Rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
The ultimate sacrifice is needed to gain the ultimate reward.

^But it does mean I can suddenly make out the sprinkled cake donuts on the table. Yummy! I hope this means we'll see Cam eat again.

One of the books is Bowditch. Nathaniel Bowditch was an American mathematician credited as the founder of modern maritime navigation. Most of the books are probably random set dressing. The Bowditch book was placed prominently in the scene. Maybe Cameron is trying to find a place or something? Or she's got a thing for bearded guys in wheelchairs?
