If your wanting to kill a character off with Cancer in a short space of time Pancreatic Cancer is a good starting point, it's highly aggressive and the treatments not very effective. Female specific Cancer your best bet is Ovarian. It's often not detected until the late stages and consequently women diagnosed with it often die within a short period of time after being diagnosed. A bit of creative editing and you could easily weave Sarah Connor's death from Cancer into the tail end of the series without it bogging down the entire series. Kill off Cameron as well for good measure, and that will either make or break John Connor.

What I'm saying is it's possibly irrelevant for the show (besides something for the character to think on occasionally) because they are unlikely to move into post JD territory. Sarah would get cancer in six years, what happens then anyone can make up for themselves. Sarah would die in 6 years. We don't know how long she would actually be sick beforehand. If she battled the cancer for years, it could come into play before judgement day. Unless there's going to be some sort of Cameron saving Sarah's life kind of story, though, I really hope the cancer doesn't come into play beyond character motivation.

Actually, I'm starting to get a little worried about where Josh is taking the show.
First, he says this season will have some "stand-alone" episodes so that viewers who aren't regularly following it can "dip in" and enjoy it, but it doesn't necessarily advance the story line.
Then he says Chromartie is going to have the problem that Laszlo's B-movies are going to start showing up as a result of the SWAT shootout. That whole concept seems utterly useless to me except for some sort of comic relief, which the show really doesn't need.
Then he wants to resurrect the "cancer" bit - which I basically assumed was a "McGuffin" just to justify sending Sarah into the future, to make the show more consistent with a present timeline, just to get them out of the '90's and into present time.
I wonder if Josh is starting to throw too much into the mix, like all that high school stuff in season one which I really couldn't see a lot of point to - the whole Cheri Westin track was basically a waste of time in my opinion.
And I'm not entirely sure I'm going to be that interested in this new character, Riley. Having another hot babe on the show is fine, but not if it detracts from the main concept. John Connor has his problems, and I suppose they want to illustrate how he's pulling away from his mother, but shoe-horning a girlfriend into this guy's life is not going to help him survive Judgment Day.
Personally I think keeping the whole show focused on one major theme - stopping the creation of Skynet despite umpteen "vast conspiracies" while exploring the relationship between man and machine via John and Cameron and exploring the psyches of John and Sarah Connor - would be more than enough to keep the writers busy. I really hope they don't get flaky in some effort to be more "audience friendly."

I like the fact that Sarah questions Dereks motives. Derek lives with his head after JD and Sarah lives with her head before JD so they both need to find a balance.

Saw this Episode last night, it was very good. Definitely continuing the strong start for Season 2. Lots of Sarah in this one, and Riley is introduced.

I just want to know if the attic scene is revisited in this episode. If it is, I don't want to know what happened, I just want to know if we're going to find out what happened.

allergygal:
It will be revisited explicitly, but not in this episode. However, it's there in subtext and allusion through most of the first half of the season. In many ways what happened in the attic is central to the season, especially the Sarah/John relationship.

She has a few funny moments, and it also shows a little more of a bond between her and Sarah. I've heard "Girls are complicated" is from this episode. Yes it is. I just want to know if the attic scene is revisited in this episode. If it is, I don't want to know what happened, I just want to know if we're going to find out what happened. Nothing with the attic. One brief future scene, it's probably 10-15 seconds. I can give a rundown if you guys want, unless you'd like to wait till tomorrow. It's definitely a good one ;D

Is Cameron still damaged? I mean the limp. Or it's all magically repaired?
Don't really want to know too much more.

Guess my torment will continue for a while. Heh. heh. help.

Her face is healed, John makes note of it saying something like "Those are healing up", to which she replies "Faster than yours". Cameron seems to walk ok again, but her strength seems diminished somewhat. She also seems to have some more cobwebs in the head that have shaken loose from 2x01.

How can that be anyway? She is still made of the same material. Urgh confusion. As for her chip being messed up royally...only time will tell what a mess that will create. But at least it makes for some interesting storytelling.

I think it has more to do with the stuff going on inside her head..
