Ok, I've been waiting all day to write this, lets hope I dont mess this up and its worth it?
This is just a revised version from above of what I believe happened in BOTH versions of T3. One or two of the things I wrote I may have gone back on, but I do think that Uncanny Antman has hit the nail on the head when he edited this movie and added the small but informative "Uploading Virus" graphic to the TX readout and is my catalyst for this next piece. I am not taking timelines and the other movies in to account as honestly its a minefield trying to marry them up I think, just take a look at the 8 timelines at Terminator Files to see this. So Im just concentrating on T3s movie side of things.
Now to go back a bit just for clarity.
Its percieved thoughout T3 by most that Skynet is online on the civilian networks, tricks CRS into believing that a virus has attacked this network and then blags its way onto the military net.
UA's Coming Storm edit says that a virus is uploaded by the TX to confuse Humans to release Skynet as it has no external access until Brewster hits that computer Y key.
Ok, now the evidence and Klaatu's theory..
The TX comes from the future
A virus does infect the networks
Skynet does indeed access the Military networks and proceeds with Judgement day.
Basically what I am theorizing is while most assume there is only one Skynet in this movie and its at CRS and has access to the internet. I say there are two parts to Skynet that NEED to become one, the other is this much contested virus.
What we have in T3 are Both John and the T101 talking about Skynet but they never get around to say which version they are talking about as Skynet is Skynet isnt it?
well lets look at a couple of well known quotes.
The T101 tells us "Skynet is assuming control over Global communications in preparation for its attack"
John tells us "Skynet is the virus"
T101 tells us "Skynet as become self aware!
Its assumed CRS Skynet has taken this step but I say its the future Skynet that has taken these steps but we are not told this as the T101 has no reason to say any other as Skynet is Skynet, wether in two parts or its now or in the future.
So,
When T101 says "Skynet is assuming control over..." its talking about the Future Skynet.
When John tells us "Skynet is the virus" he is also saying (wether he realizes or not as he also assumes of one Skynet based in the present) that its Future Skynet that was uploaded by the TX when she first accessed the net to look for Johns LTs although he does not realize this.
When the T101 tells us "Skynet as become self aware! it means that CRS Skynet has become aware with the help of Future Skynet.
It stands to reason that there are two parts to Skynet as the only reason CRS Skynet becomes aware is that the future part joined the CRS part once the firewalls were taken down.
If you still cant see that the TX uploaded the Skynet software consider one of the TXs main attributes we have seen constantly thoughout the movie is the ability to upload and change software through nanites, we see it in the Policecar/firetruck chase, The uploading of software to the T1 and the T101 primary target program, so adding the future Skynet Software down a comms line, commonly known as the Super virus should present no problem.
Now then, that John conner (Crystal Peak, they never got the warning, Gasp!) moment I had at work this morning, mentioned in my last post, that will hopefully make this a little clearer.
The way I see it, T3 is just the basic story of T1 except from the other side. Here are my conclusions. I will highlight each movie in a different colour to make it a bit more readable for each version.
T1: A soldier from the future travels back in time to find the mother of the future resistance leader.
T3: A Terminator from the future travels back in time to find the mother of the machines.
-
T1: The Soldier finds the mother, he bonds with her.
T3: The Terminator uploads Future Skynet software and it links in to the networks.
-
T1: Sara conceives
T3: Future Skynet is allowed past the Firewalls to join (conceives) with CRS Skynet.
-
T1: John Conner is the result (Rise Of The Resistance??).
T3: Skynet is now self aware (Rise Of The Machines).
-
I know we have gone on a slight tangent from the original thread but as the virus is an important part of both versions I do think it needs addressing as UA said earlier it does not compute that CRS skynet would be online before they press that damn button but at the same time we are told that skynet is assuming control over the networks.
So, what do you lot think?
Am I way off track?
edited for clarification after reading this several hours later.
