Sneaking out at night as an under-age whipper-snapper to see The Terminator (the original and the best IMO) with a few friends. One of the great things about being privileged to see T1 back in the day was that it was before the the Internet and mass marketing, so it was easier for a film to keep its secrets. I never really fully understood what Arnold was until the aftermath of the Tech-Noir scene where Kyle & Sarah are being chased down a back alley and you see the Terminator Vision for the first time. So you can imagine what it was like for a group of very young boys in the back row of the Cinema to see all this - "F##k yeah, how cool is this!" Throw in loads of guns, car chases, that iconic scene in the Police Station along with some hanky panky with Sarah and T1 became a smash hit with lads. No prizes for guessing what we were all talking about at School the next day.

A spot in the "year's 10 best" list in a copy of Time in my doctor's office in 1984.
I was 11.

When i was really young my parents were watching the video of T1 and i got scared when the ominous terminator beat starts and arnold demanded the thugs clothes and then punches into one punks chest, and thats when I promptly fled the room. (i was also scared of alien/aliens but now love all those films)
With t2 i saw that some time after its cinema release on video again not sure how long after t2's release and well thought it was brilliant quite unforgetable and made me want to watch the original T1 again all the way through this time.

When I was about 6 my mother recorded The Terminator and showed it to me and my younger brother to scare us away from computers. It was very scary, especially the fact that the ending implied that the nuclear war would still happen. We watched the second film a week later and honestly I didn't find it nearly as frightening because of the hopeful ending.
The scare tactic didn't work you see, I grew quite interested in computers. As you can imagine my mother and I have had quite a Sarah-John relationship, which is why The Sarah Connor Chronicles resonated so well.

TSCC was my first experience with Terminator. I got into Garbage when I saw the video for Queer back when they were first starting out and I was hooked. I just had to check out this acting gig Shirley Manson landed so I watched the whole first season of TSCC on Hulu. And now here I am....crazy TSCC fangirl. Didn't see the first two movies until April of 2009 and then saw the two other movies shortly after.
