Thanks...I came up with the concept at work last week...it just seemed fitting somehow...after all this mayhem...to end it with hope and life...but that knowledge that Skynet is still out there and still a threat...but that determination is there.
No matter what it takes...humanity will never ever give up.
Or to Quote my T5 Script before the big climactic Battle sequence-
"Tonight we Unify! This is OUR TIME! This battle is OUR DESTINY! We FIGHT TOGETHER! If we die tonight- we LIVE FOREVER!! Now....let's go kick Skynet's ASS!"
I just love writing the John Connor giving inspiring speeches stuff.

Great stuff all around and very true to the movies.
Amazed that you're moving along through a trilogy so quickly.

I think it's because I've always had an overall blueprint for the 3 scripts. And it's been ruminating for years. I'm going to be doing an interview for MOAD so you'll find out a lot more in that. But I will say this-
My Future War trilogy is my Love Poem to Cameron. It would never have happened had not a amazing bunch of completly unconnected events occoured. And I would have given up long ago had I not been contacted out of the blue at just the right moment by J.C. himself. His words of encouragement through the years have turned me into a better writer than I could ever have imagined. And every part of this trip has been wonderful...even the LONG struggles.
You know I never planned to leave fans on T4's cliffhanger ending for over 2 years. And to be honest I HATE cliffhangers- but this was the only way to make a trilogy of this kind work.
I just hold this world in the highest regaurd imaginable. Hell if I have it my way- and I continue to find life into this world. I'll keep writing in it till either-
A) I die. B) Jesus takes me home. C) Either of the above.
End of story.

Second that approach and understand entirely.
Except I'm actually new to writing the Terminator-verse. I've been scattered about all over the years. Started out with sci-fi and horror and took a year off to just readjust. Now, I'm doing a monthly series on top of things and I'm working on developing an alternate universe focusing on Derek Reese's character, which I'm mapping out more and more as we speak.
Not to say that I haven't been a fan of the movies since day one because I have since T2. My first real exposure to the series, even though I had no clue as to what the hell it was that I was watching.

Ross I envy your organized thinking. When I write, I never have a clue where I'm going to go with it. I just start and wait to see where it takes me. I started writing a Sarah/Derek fic and now I just don't think it's going to work because as soon as I got them in a room alone together they didn't want to have anything to do with each other. They just got into a big argument instead.

That argument is a story still telling itself something. Just let it build from there. It's one of the numerous ways to go.
Two trilogies, Ross. Wow!

Yeah, I don't think I can avoid it because I've restarted the conversation a few times and it always ends up with a confrontation. So I think I'm just going to have to let it play out.

Best way to go sometimes.
Glad to hear someone finally working on a Derek/Sarah story. I've seen a couple up on Fanfiction.net, but couldn't get into them.

I'll answer a very common question that people seem afraid to ask of me-
"How the *BLEEP* Do you keep track of two trilogies?"
The writing part of my mind works like a filing cabinet if you will.
And in each drawer of each filing cabinet are seperate files.
Like my Terminator filing cabinet is divided like this:
T3 V1 (Now Archival only) T3: Final Retribution (Now Archival Only) T4: Years of Darkness (Most Recent Closure) T5: Era of War (Currently in Progress) T6: Untitled (Actively Pre-Planning) Terminator: Steel Souls (In Progress) HL2 Modification Script (Secret Project) (early Brainstorming)
T4-T-6 all have characters in common. And each story continues directly off the story before it...so it's a matter of keeping each story seperate but remembering that they all form one huge story.
For some reason each Filing cabinet does not collide with any of the others. Like some huge mental juggling act. And each sotry has mental and written plot points my version of a Treatment- so that helps also.
reguardless it's not something I have to focus on or anything- for some reason it just comes naturally.

I can understand that kind of filing system. I used to have a similar structure until I went to the old outline system, when I started doing the monthly series route.

Indeed...I swear...they are getting their TY big time with the T5 script in the Zip will be the Script and the Thank You Document.
Ghost Readers help out in ways they'd never begin to guess. Each script on more than one occasion Ghost Readers have pointed out Blatant errors that I'd totally missed. It's nuts but very helpfull.
