Hello all-- For any that don't know, a petition has been started to attempt to persuade FOX to keep our beloved show on the air! Here is the link: www.petitiononline.com/scconfox/petition.htmlShow FOX how committed we are as fans!

Welcome. Hopefully, we do get one.
At least we know the writers are writing, so there's a pretty strong chance. (Check out the Season 2 Speculation thread in the spoilers section to see what I mean.)
Welcome to the site by the way.

Sadly, online petitions impress no one. The Jericho fans got their show renewed, not because they had sheer numbers, but because they expressed their desire in a manner that DID impress the network suits.
They sent massive numbers of mail-order bags of peanuts to the CBS offices. This impressed the network suits because it showed that there were massive numbers of people willing to spend a few bucks to order a bag of peanuts, and quite a few willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to send large pallets of nuts. The suits figured, these kind of fans will not only shell out money for the eventual DVD's, the iTunes downloads and so forth, but they will be willing to buy products and services advertised on the show, because that's the REAL way to keep a show on the air...make it a money-making proposition for the advertisers and sponsors.
If we want the show to be renewed, we need to impress FOX in their pocketbooks where they will actually notice.
I considered suggesting we send pancakes to the FOX offices, but that would just be messy. Corn chips would be too obscure. Dry toast, too easy to confuse with BSG or RHPS fandom.
Any suggestions for something cheap, relavent to the series, yet impressive when vast quantities show up in your corporate mailroom?

Hmmm, you got a point Big Brother. The Clana & Clois fans in the Smallville fandom did similar. The only things I think up that can relate to our series are expensive though. Like sun glasses? ('Uncle Bob' liked them alot) or plastic toy guns. I'm not good at this No wait a sec, are those posters of the "Hang in there Baby cat" still available? I mean it was featured in the show and the words 'Hang in there' speaks for itself. Or any other ideas anyone?

The thing is we haven't even got an announcement as of yet as to what the fate of the show is.

Once a show is cancelled, it is very rare that it comes back. Egos come into play, and no one has bigger egos than showbiz suits. They hate to admit that they were wrong, and will look for excuses to prove themselves right. A movement to get a show renewed is much easier and more likely to succeed than one to get a show un-cancelled.
I've been thinking...we might pick the next action or sci-fi movie from 21st Century Fox studios and pledge in a new petition to all go and see it in the theaters, and bring a friend along and urge all our other friends and relatives to go see it as well, IF and only IF the show gets officially renewed before the movie in question leaves the first-run theaters. If the show is cancelled, we will not only not go, we will urge everyone we know to not see it either.
We get 50,000 or so people to pledge to go see a movie on opening weekend and bring along a friend, that could easily add a million bucks to its opening weekend gross. Or cut a million bucks off it if we boycott.
Then we get one of our buddies on the inside to have the TSCC people quick put together a theatrical teaser trailer for the second season to be attached to the movie in question if this works.
How cool would that be?
