That is very likely incorrect. "Earthlings welcome here" is the episode that is meant as the finale, and it is still announced on the official blog as such. What did happen is that ep 12, "alpine fields" (which is more of a standalone ep) has mysteriously disappeared from the schedule - "Eartlings" taking its place in the broadcasting schedule.
I hope we soon get a clarification about what is going on here. It may be that "Alpine Fields" will be move to the back nine (ten?) - not exactly a great move IMO - or perhaps they will air it outside the normal monday slot (there is talk about a double episode of "Prison Break" that may be the cause).

Hell I hope we don't have to wait for Alpine Fields...the cast list says Peter Mensah is back as Perry and we all know what that means.

I wouldn't be suprised if they decide to air it on a Friday night sometime in January. Fox could get an rough estimate of what the ratings would be like, and allocate the proper advertising dollars for the show come February.
But, this is just me speculating out loud.

The situation is still in flux, but the decision to air a big two hour Prison Break finale forced us to stop at 12 episodes instead of 13 and move one of the first 13 into the back part of the season. So instead of ending our run at 12 and depriving people of the episode that was designed as a finale to the first chunk of the season (Earthlings), we're opting to move the mostly standalone "Alpine" into the back part of the season-- probably between episode 13, "The Good Wound," and 14, "Desert Cantos." This is actually a place that works pretty darn well for "Alpine Fields," actually. So while you'll have to wait until after the holidays to see it, it won't be too long of a wait.

Thanks so much Zack for your thoughts and your clarification. I'm looking forward to it no matter when it airs. I quite like stand alones.

While none of us really want to wait, at least it's a sensible decision making process that was used. I'm glad to see it's just standard scheduling issues. My only question now that SAG's board is seeking a strike vote from members (ugh) is how far along is the shooting schedule and how quickly can the back nine be filmed?

SAG needs to get 75 percent of its people to agree...not bloody likely.
They sure don't have my vote.

Thanks for the update, The Turk. Question: is "Earthings Welcome Here" going to be a two hour fall finale? I mean, if Prison Break can get a 2-hour finale, why not T:SCC?

No problem and yes I have been a member of SAG/AFTRA for quite a few years now and soon God Willing the WGA. Just need a little bit of luck on that one.

Thanks for the clarification. A shame that we will only get 12 episodes this year, but we do get an extra one next year so it's all good.

Are you sure we'll get an extra one. It might just mean they will have one less episode to write after the break. Aren't there so many weeks allocated to a show?

I'm one of those fans who wants to see a growing relationship between John and Cam. I guess I'm going to be disappointed if they can take what was originally an episode 7 and place it into the last half of the season and there be no noticeable difference in the relationship.

"Alpine Fields" doesn't address the John-Cameron relationship at all, so moving it in the airing order will make no difference to that.

Can you confirm there will be 10 episodes (the back 9 + "Alpine Fields") after the break, or may there be one episode of the back 9 dropped to make room for "Alpine Fields"?
