No episodes of the back 9 will be cut to make way for "Alpine." We're still contracted for the full 22.

Fox reminds me of my sister. She can never make up her mind about what shoes she wants to wear for the day. She's 12 years old,how many pairs of shoes can a 12 year old possibly want. This is a mystery to us guys.I wish they would make up their minds.Damn you Rosie and damn you Fox.

Heh, heh, that reminds me of a scene from the pilot for the upcoming TV series "Leverage" this winter. The female thief comments about the female grifter's purchase of a large number of shoes by saying. "What is it with women and shoes?" To which the grifter replies, "There's something wrong with you." And one of the guys on the team says, "That's what I said!" referring to an earlier incident between him and the thief. "Leverage" is going to be a great show if the pilot is any indication. The show is about a group of criminals - a thief, a grifter, a hacker, and a "retrieval specialist" (basically a martial artist who beats people up to retrieve merchandise), led by a former insurance investigator - who take on crooked corporations and the like in elaborate scams to help people. The premise has been done before, but this is done very slick with great writing - at least if they keep to the standards of the pilot. Along with "Terminator", I expect it to be the main show I'll be watching this winter. To get back on topic, I wonder how Fox intends to handle the "Prison Break" finale if they've re-inserted "Alpine Fields" into the sequence. I thought that was the reason AP was taken out. The description I just found for this episode is: "Sarah and Cameron attempt to save a family whose fate links in with Derek in the future. Jesse fights for her life." This sounds to me like another side-trip in dealing with some side plot by Skynet, which does nothing to help them stop Skynet. And I wonder who Jesse is fighting if it's not Cameron - who's supposedly off with Sarah again. Could it be that Derek finds out about Riley and decides to confront Jesse? Is she fighting John? Some Terminator? Or YARF (Yet Another Resistance Fighter) from the future sent by John to stop her from messing up his life? Anybody notice that this is, what, the fourth time this season that Sarah and Cameron have been put together? First, there was "Automatic for the People", then it was protecting little Marty Bedell, then it was tracking down the burglars. Now they're off saving some other pointless bunch of people. How is Derek going to like it if Cameron saves the life of some family that is important to him in the future - while at the same time he's helping Jesse try to get rid of Cameron? That would make this episode make some sense - by putting pressure on Derek. By the way, "Alpine Fields" might refer to an Alaskan North Slope oil field. That might hold some strategic significance for Skynet - although it's not a big field with major reserves, so I suspect the title refers to something else. Google shows me nothing except some clothes, however and references to geographic features in Austria.

General Perry is gonna be in Alpine Fields.Perhaps his family is the one that Derek wants to protect.

When I heard this episode got pushed back because of post-production problems, at first I assumed it was because of quality control. But, after seeing the previews, I can see they just wanted to make sure that the future scenes were perfect.

Also Richard don't discount this as being a pointless side romp.
generally episodes involving the future have distinct ties to both the present and the forwarding of the story.

The "stand alones" (and really, it's arguable the extent to which any TSCC ep can stand alone since they tend to be more or less specific to a certian point in the arc of the season) generally focus on character and I've yet to see one that didn't build character or broaden the story in some way.

Yes, I just saw the promo - it's clear the Jesse scenes are in the future. So, yes, they should be relevant to the present in some way - hopefully moving forward the Jesse part of the story.
Since the Connors appear to be in the forest, supposedly "hundreds of miles from civilization", maybe they really ARE up in the Alaska North Slope Alpine oil field!

It'll be a pretty big risk for Sarah to get on an airplane. She's definitely on the no fly list.
