What's with Cameron? Trying to learn everything that there is to learn, probably. I would imagine that much of the information contained in the libraries and such was destroyed on JD. Maybe one of her mission's is to collect lost information. edit - I really need to check my spelling better before hitting the post button

^But it does mean I can suddenly make out the sprinkled cake donuts on the table. Yummy! I hope this means we'll see Cam eat again. Me too! Two doughnuts and wash it down with a soda. ;D I don't think one Cameron would be enough to collect usable amount of information. If they succeed, JD never happens and all Cam's efforts will be vain. I've sorta figured out one more book: The ... and the ... Maybe 'The beauty and the beast' Who would be the beast? Cam? And John the beauty? ;D I don't think so...

I don't think one Cameron would be enough to collect usable amount of information. If they succeed, JD never happens and all Cam's efforts will be vain. Depends entirely what she's looking for. The only information Skynet would've had was that which already was archived into digital form and found on the internet. Good guesswork there! Its entirely a matter of perspective. Its what the story is about rather than which gender is which. Comparing Cameron & John to Beauty and the Beast is a rather good analogy, come to think of it...

The contents of the Library of Congress are about 10 Terabyte in size. Not very much. Of course the informations would have to be available in digital form.
It just might be related to the Terminator that was erroneously sent back too far back in time. The Terminator replacing an iconic figure in history like Alexander the Great or Caesar or Blackbeard the Pirate... Or the Terminator becomes some literary writer, maybe even surviving the ages (like in the series Forever Knight) and is still around - as Eric... Leg servos damaged or long worn out, and confined to a wheelchair for mobility...
I like this idea. I think I read some information about a TSCC casting call for someone who looks like Rudolph Valentino? Talk about an iconic figure. According to Wikipedia, "His [Valentino's] untimely death at age 31 caused mass hysteria among his female fans, propelling him into icon status." Perhaps Skynet sent him back but wiped his memory, sort of a sleeper cell bot, intending to retrieve him for some later purpose. But something went wrong and he went back to the 1920s, basically lost in time to Skynet. He doesn't know who he is and assuming he is human, somehow becomes a romantic motion picture icon (of all things for a non-feeling cyborg). But at some point he realizes he's not getting older and has to fake his death at age 31. He's been changing names until now, a la the Highlander. He doesn't know who or what he is, just that he is different -- how lonely. Perhaps he spends a lot of time in the library searching for answers since he doesn't sleep. Then he sees Cameron in the library late every night because she doesn't sleep either. They strike up a friendship. Eventually, he learns who/what he is from her and she learns how to be more human from him as he has basically lived and learned among them and thought he was one for 80 years. The wheelchair and the donuts are a little hard to explain, though.

There is some interesting info posted here: terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/2109645/Canadian+episode+confusion+%28mild+spoiler%29Apparently Canadian TV released a trailer for "Self made man", by accident I suppose. Our source gives a description: If you've seen the promo images for 2.11 it shows Cameron at the house of some guy in a wheelchair. She's going through a bunch of records and files with him. She looks at a photo that has the Terminator in it and you hear the guy saying "that photo's from 1920s". Cameron's says that she needs to find out where he is now. She and the wheelchair guy go over what I think is records of land the terminator's bought and you see flashbacks to the 1920s where the Terminator guy is talking at a podium to a crowd of people.
At the end of the preview she breaks through a wall and is shown gunning something down. So maybe she finds him...?

Someone on the FOX forum made the interesting observation that a Terminator who arrived in the 20s, must have lived among humans, and learned from them, for 90+ years. Considering what "uncle Bob" could do after just a few days with humans (and Cameron and Weaver also learned a lot in what are probably months), this could well be interesting. This Terminator may have picked up so much about humans in all those years that it may be able to behave almost perfectly human.

I see a lot of interesting possibilities in this storyline. Suppose a glitch did send a terminator back to the mid 1920's. His assignment is an adult target living in LA 2007. That means he has to quietly live among humans for 80 years.
A few things to consider... 1. No terminator has ever lived that long. We don't know the exact date the first advanced models were built (the early rubber skin models really don't count). But, it couldn't be much earlier than 2012 or so. Future skynet is circa 2027. The oldest terminators couldn't have been online for more than 15 years. What would happen to a terminator after 80 years? Would the power cell run out, skin deteriorate or mechanical systems fail? It's unknown territory.
2. Would the terminator really wait until 2007? Maybe it would go after the target as an infant and cut 20 years off the waiting period.
3. Others have mentioned the effect of living a peaceful life among humans for 80 years. Did he get drafted for WWII, marry etc. I wonder if he had a successful career? Perhaps a lawyer (Same species as Terminators except they screw people before they wreck their lives ;D) or a professional solider.
I bet the writers had a lot of fun with this episode. There's lots of story angles they could explore. They could write several episodes just exploring this terminators life among humans.

Uncle Bob said that his power supplies can last 120 years.

They better come up with a really brilliant idea for this, as I'm going to have a hard time dealing with any plot about a Terminator in the 1920's.
I just don't like period pieces - and even if it's set in the present and the Terminator is just surfacing, I'm not going to like that one.
I thought that episode was supposed to be about what Cameron does at night. We know from season one that she "monitors the media for threats". Are we supposed to believe she watched some news reel from the 1920's and recognized a Terminator as being some specific model and then tries to track him down?
It would be worse if she was watching old romantic movies so she can seduce John better, and spots the Terminator as an actor - like Cromartie's/Laszlo's "BeastWizard" schtick - in some romantic film.
I'm all for expanding the conspiracy, but any fan with a brain is already asking how come Skynet doesn't send a Terminator back to kill Sarah Connor's parents instead of Sarah. If you start sending Terminators to previous time periods, even by accident - and we're already supposed to believe John sent back an "engineer" to 1963 - then this show jumps the shark pretty quick.
Once again, I have to raise the question of at what point do the scripts stop being "cool" and start being ridiculous.
Josh has said explicitly that he doesn't want to "overuse" time travel in the series. I'd say he's already well past that point.

The war destroyed most of the records. All Skynet knew about Sarah was that she lived in Los Angeles, that's why the Terminator in T1 killed the other two Sarah Connors and Sarah's friend Ginger before he found the correct Sarah Connor.

A Canadian viewer describes the preview on this wiki thread. terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/2110292/Saw+a+2.11+%22Self+Made+Man%22+preview.... I've been waiting for a situation where Cameron actually knows a Terminator. It makes sense that this would happen. All the Termmies hanging out at the factory breakroom and swapping stories about how many humans they killed. "I bagged a 7 footer still wearing his Air Jordans, really!!" ;D Anyway, that's apparently the situation. Cammie recognizes a Terminator that she knew previously. She may (possibly) know his mission. I'm very excited about the possibilities for this episode. I hope this show focuses entirely on Cameron. Leave the Connors at home for a change. This can be a chance to see Cameron in charge, hunt this dude down and frag his ass. Did I mention I'm excited? ;D This could be really fantastic. Just like watching Arnie in the first 30 minutes of T1.
