Soooo....back to Lena's Holiday.... Anyone tried one yet? Negative. I'm tee-total! So I'm relying on the rest of you for a review I would probably try the drink if it wasn't for the cucumber. I don't do cucumber. Ew. Everything else in the drink sounds good though.

LOL. We grow our own cukes and I love sprouts. Vodka OTOH, not so much. This is hopeless! Do we have no one out there who likes alcohol and fruit?!

Well actually isn't cucumber a vegetable? Technically, they're a fruit. Cos they have seeds. Like tomatoes and pumpkins. I double-checked with the missus, who's all horticultural and stuff Course we eat 'em like they're veg which is where it gets confusing...

I love fruit and alcohol combinations and have upon occasion *cough*comiccon*cough* indulged in a number of fruity flavored vodka martinis. The cucumber though has officially been declared a "vile weed" in Gotham City and is not permited in such a joyous combination.

So I guess I will refrain from offering you any of my world famous cucumber and tomato salad at any point in time....

LOL! Your post challenged me to go looking for it, and I did! XD
Btw, I'm really amused that the restaurant's in Echo Park. Wonder if there's a thrift store anywhere nearby. XD

I don't if hardly ever drink... So count me out on trying it. Although I enjoy cucumbers be it the store bought english variety, or the home grown garden varieties. Sliced in salad, cubed on their own with thousand island or vinegar drizzled over them in a bowl, or just plain on their own to take a length and chew on Also love homemade pickles from garden grown cucumbers. Its a taste and texture that can't be bought in the store. Back to the Lena Cocktail I guess...

LOL! Your post challenged me to go looking for it, and I did! XD Heh, I cheated and used a new Lena fan blog lenafanpage.blogspot.com/ which has some decent (if not terribly recent) stuff on it if you're bored...(just try and ignore what the owner has chosen to call it!) Y'know, I don't even know what a thrift store is... Junk? Second hand stuff? Hand-made stuff? Fair-Trade?

Thrift store: a second hand store, pretty much run on stuff people donate for free. donations which the store sells and brings in profit for the store and pays the employees. Stuff gets sorted, decent to good quality stuff goes to the store shelves, while junky stuff gets discarded. That being said, there can still easily be a fair bit of junky stuff found on the store shelves. You'd be surprised though, especially at the clothing, how much of it can be 'like brand new' in quality, yet sold at very reasonable low price.
Baby wear and kids clothing for example which easily gets outgrown. Old clothing people hold onto for no reason then decide to get rid of (or from weight gain, weight loss, or nolonger have room to store it as they regularly buy new clothing). People who pass away / get killed / die from injuries, theres usually box loads of clothing articles brought in by their loved ones. Lots of miscellaneous items - kitchenware, movies & music, furniture, random knick-knacks, etc

Well, I think there is a difference between secondhand (clothing) shops and thrift stores. The secondhand shops in Chicago, for example, can be quite expensive, sometimes more expensive than regular stores if they're one of those 'selective' design shops. Thrift stores, on the other hand, are always low price because, as terrasj said, they mainly deal with donated items. (just try and ignore what the owner has chosen to call it!) ... ;D

Hey, on this blog it talks about pictures proving that Lena is pregnant. Has anyone seen these or know where I can find them? Thanks.
