That's overdo. At this rate, we need a Cameron Fantasties thread

I hate it when storylines get dropped without resolution - sloppy writing. Even a too-quick one-episode resolution is better.

The writers aren't the ones at fault for this particular situation. The strike happened and actors/actresses' move on and do other projects. If they don't want to come back to it the situation, all they have to do is toss-in a throw away line in regards to things and the situation is handled. Even then it wasn't like most of the supporting cast last season was really all that necessary to the equation. They were there yes and it was nice to have them around, but there really wasn't much backstory presented to play with. I'm saying this from a producer's standpoint though.
I liked Cheri and John's friend, but the situation post-strike dictated otherwise and that's the way the dice rolled.
It's still very possible that the characters could reappear again if the writer's of the show deem it.
Honestly, I'd like to see what Josh and co. thought about the situation as a whole? If there's a possibility of them coming back at some point or whether or not their permenantly gone?

^^^ Agreed. Oh, and if they decide that they're (Cheri and Morris) never going to return to the series, I'd like for Josh and the rest of the crew to atleast tell us what they WERE going to do witht that storyline. Anyway, I'm not sad or upset that storyline never really received closure (well, John moved and started @ a new HS, so I guess that is closure in a way), but still, I thought the HS storyline was the weakest part of the show in season one. I'm really glad that the school plot is pretty much done and over with. Now, if only they'd show John getting some hand to hand combat training as opposed to just shooting rifles, now that would own.

I agree the HS storyline wasn't strong enough it could carry across seasons. The writer's strike really screwed up that being a one-season long sub-arc. But I just can't stand hanging threads. Probably because I've seen a couple shows that do that with half their arcs and never finish any of them and only ask questions and never answer them. I understand why it happened. I just don't like that it did, and that there was no attempt to even address that something had happened.
I was never sure it was a new school - when were there any time to register anywhere else? I thought he just went back to his old school for a day and then to "home-schooling".
I don't really care about that, much. I mean, I don't mind seeing John training. Would like it even. But I feel his training is as complete as Sarah's is, and now it's just a matter of keeping up his skills. Sure, learning anything new that happens to come along. But not that he's "unfinished" in any sense. Originally J-Day was in '97, and I can't think Sarah would have left the job undone, left him untrained.
I'd much rather see more of John with the Coltan situation, John with the traffic system. John taking charge. John going into battle. John fighting, John standing up for what he thinks is right. IMO, the time for preparation is over - the war has begun. While some background training wouldn't be amiss (so long as it's not just John training), I'm much more interested in seeing the actual fights.
I don't disagree, but I found Cheri's plot a lot more interesting that whatever is going on with Riley. I don't dislike Riley (really, all she's done is come on to a cute teenage boy), but she's still dull to me. Maybe if she keeps following down the "you're afraid of your mother" line of thought she could end up somewhere interesting, if totally wrong.
Actually, I just remembered that I do disagree - Ellison was so boring in season 1. I don't know why. I thought he had potential to be interesting in the pilot. But his journey to truth just bored the heck out of me until the finale.

I don't disagree about Ellison's plot during the first season, but let's keep things centered on said character of the title in here. After all we do have threads for every character here
