Thx! Sorry about the belated reply, I missed 2x11 when it aired Monday, was busy most of the week - didn't have a chance to ask a friend who tapes it, nor did I want to run into any spoiler discussion, so that also rules out any character discussion threads. Managed to catch it yesterday on another station. I'm still working on the former scenes shown above, learning some new tricks that'll go a long ways to improving them. And I've a cute idea for another quick spur of the moment render... I'll have to see what I can do...

Thx!
I decided to make a new avatar variant from my older one. I've still got a few TSCC scene renders i'm working on, perhaps in a couple weeks they'll be finished... Until then, stay tuned!

Getting back into the mood for the 2nd half of season 2, and while taking a break from everything else, i managed to put together a new render. This is the newest piece i've made and completed to date, as I've got a few others I'm still needing to revisit, work on and finish up. I present you with more scary scary robots. (yup, plural). Hopefully the title fits this piece, although I'm open to suggestions "Dungeons & Dragons" -= Click for full size version @ 1680x1050=-This piece took just shy 6 hours by 3min & 9 seconds to render. Probably the highest number of characters I've put into a scene yet, I'm quite surprised myself that it didn't conk out with a insufficient resources error message considering i've only got 2gb of ram. And I wonder if I could populate it a little bit more yet with a few more endoskeletons. Sorry if the lighting is a bit low, when I crank up the ceiling lighting too much, the hallway is brighter, but the chrome becomes an eyesore. Comments & critique, always appreciated. Enjoy! :edit: I might swap out that punk mohawk style hair, as I found something a little more to my liking, a little more feminine. I'll get it rendering while I get some sleep

Nice work once again. I'm not fond of that mohawk chick, though. Kind of looks like a she-male. Very freaky.

Thanks! Me neither once I added her into the scene... Thats why I set about to give her a different hairpiece. Anyways, I screwed up on the re-render, I was also making a few slight adjustments to Cam's hair, since its not a natural fit for her model (Hair was made for Victoria Generation 3, and she's Gen4 so I had to manually fit it on). What I ended up with was some desktop wallpaper portrait of Cam: -= click for 1680x1050 size =-Heres a quick render of the replacement hair on for the other terminator, the one that looks like a she-male... I was hoping this other hairpiece would make her look more feminine than masculine. For larger renders I usually make and pose the individual models separately then import them into the larger scene. Hence the difference in lighting here. If she still looks masculin, perhaps I'll need to use a different face shape for her. The teenager's looking kinda pale since in this document I didn't apply any skin texture to him yet. Btw, those other pics I bugged ya earlier about for suggestions and opinions, I just have to load one of them and let it render overnight - the one with the mountains.

Continuing to finish other incomplete scenes as I go along... "Terminating a Terminator" Posted earlier on the first page: Back_Alley_City_1fI finally bought some required mundane props to populate the scene a little bit more. Though I"m at a toss-up... Brightness @ 50% , Brightness @ 35% , and finally Brightness @ 20% ... 20% is quite a bit darker but is it too dark? I'm kinda hedging between the 50% and 35% versions...

Aerial Hunter Killer (WIP) Click on Thumbnail for larger size 1680x1050 Carrara's also setup to make animated movies and clips from renders. Thus it also has the capability for making Motion Blurr effects in image stills. Darndest part is I've setup the animation on the rotorblades, but I must be missing something, I can't seem to get it to render the motion blurr... Even though the animation plays back fine in the modeling assembly room (where I put the scenes together) I could photoshop it, but thats defeating the purpose of learning Carrara's animation tools. The AHK model is not my own, but courtesy of TerminatorFiles 3d model hosting. Its in 3d studio max format, and i had to assemble the model parts together - attaching and parenting the parts so they bend and rotate at the proper axis, rotor blades spin, landing gear unfolds, and the engines and plasma turret pivots. In 3d terms, thats called 'rigging' . The rest of the scene is my own though, from the ocean waves to the sun set evening sky , and the trace of blue exhaust flames. The awesome metallic skin is courtesy of Carrara's own library of metal shaders, and i'm yet going to improve on it with metal hull plating. I've got more plans for this deadly beauty...

[Click thumbnail to Enlarge] This particular piece I worked on and off since last summer, as theres a couple samples on the 1st page. I had also bugged Allergygal to look at them for an opinion. She made some awesome suggestions which I incorporated. Though I still can't seem to make a higher resolution of it, so I'm just going to post it as-is. Enjoy...

"Two Captured, One Down"(click thumbnail for full size) My latest Terminator inspired render. Title by my good online friend RossBondReturns.I'll leave it to you, the viewer to paint the story for whats happening. Notes: 99% pure render, no photoshop postwork (edits, corrections, filters, effects, manipulation, enhancements or compositing otherwise), save for adding in my signature. Thankyou for viewing, your comments and critique is highly appreciated. Apologies if the picture seems a bit dark, it looks fine on my LG LCD. Enjoy.

^ Hey, nice one, terasj! I like how the metal shine of the endos contrast the darkness of it all. And the skulls are awesome.

Thanks allergygal ! The whole scene was lit by a single moonlight at 50% strength, then i found a preset that lit up the sky like a midnight sun / twilight. Since I applied a pure chrome metal shader onto the endos, it had something to reflect. Chrome is notoriously good at reflecting whatever is around it. If the sky was black with stars, all we'd be see'ing is their glowering red eyes. Its the same reason we see in the movie CGI clips the battlefield is lit up by twilight skies. Finding stuff like the skull & bone piles were the fun part, as well as what else to clutter the ground with. Even with the skulls, the alley looked 'too clean'. Luckily I have a few actual T800 endo models that i don't use, i was able to rip apart / kitbash (same source where i fount the HK) I've got a couple more with these characters in the works (and a few cameron ones yet to start on separate from this) If you want (or anyone) one in a higher resolution say 1920x1200, I certainly can do one if you like. Just ask.

Thanks Glad you enjoy this sort of pics. I've just been busy so I hadn't any time to finish more that i've been working on. Official update: Just recently I've done a nice and very much needed hardware components update - a new motherboard and 8gb of ddr2 ram (swaped out an older motherboard and 2gb of ddr ram). I've been hitting some brick walls with resource usage issues and running out of resources period, which is required for rendering these scenes. I certainly look forward to getting back to making and finishing more Terminator and TSCC image renders, especially now with the much added headroom I have available to work with. I'll be able to load more props and detail into the scene so they're not so "baren" , but the point and focus will still remain on the theme or subject of the picture. It might be a little while longer yet, but stay tuned. There be will most assuredly, more to come.
