Discuss the possibility here.

I think it's just one of those Classics you have to leave alone. The only thing I could think of would be an FX update, but then that brings on nightmares of George Lucas.. Leave it be

I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but trying to remake it anytime soon, with a 4th movie coming out and a series going on, would be a mistake. It's been difficult enough getting people to accept Lena Headey as Sarah on the show. My God, there was even outrage that Bruce Davison played Silberman! Imagine what would happen if yet another actress was going to portray Sarah in a remake of The Terminator, along with a new Silberman, T-800 and... gulp... a new Kyle Reese. Torches and pitchforks would be in short supply!

Yeah. It's a classic. Maybe in another 20 years.

That would be a dream come true...
I'd be the first in line if that were the case. You'd be the only one to do it justice

Long as I get to write it....we're golden. Write it? So you're saying you'd want to change the original Terminator film?! That's just crazy talk.

With Hollywood remaking everything from the 70s on. Is it really that much of a stretch for a fan to reboot it with their own take?

I hope they leave this one alone. If I see one more bad film remake I'm gonna scream. I haven't even touched the Prom Night remake yet.

Long as I get to write it....we're golden. Write it? So you're saying you'd want to change the original Terminator film?! That's just crazy talk. Not change it exactly...no. It would be more of a Reinvigoration than a rewrite. It would have all the characters and facsimiles of the places we know and love. It would only be modernized to the extent that it would be logical to. The story would remain pretty much as is- except for it being more modern. Or maybe I'd even write the script so it fits back in the 80's I'm not 100 percent certain on that. Both options are really titillating to my creative mind. But yes, I absolutely still have plans for it. I'm just working on getting my first draft of T6 done so I have plenty of time for rewrites. Rogue Future is exceptionally important as it has to cap a trilogy and bring all the threads together to form a satisfying conclusion. It will also contain scenes that have to be absolutely pitch perfect: 1: Connor pulling Reese from the Battlefield, to keep him close. 2: The story of the Waitress that changed the world. 3: Handing over the picture. 4: Volunteer. 5: Remember this message...tell it to Sarah when the time is right. 6: Trusting the Machine 7: Kyle Reese is My Father. 8: Danny Dysons big scene. (Already in the can). 9: John Connor's big scene. (Already in the can). 10: Katherine Brewsters big scene. (Already in the can). 11: The Conclusion. Lots to do...plenty of time to do it. And, opens Screenwriting software.

There is no need for a remake. It would be better to just remaster the film. Use CGI to make the time travel, surgery, stop motion, and various other scenes look better and more realistic.

I'd be all for it as long as Rob Zombie directs it. I don't care what anybody says, his remake of "Halloween" was the best remake in the past decade.
