Another former Fox sci-fi fan favorite is heading to cable: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up by Syfy. EW can exclusively report that Syfy has gained the rights to all 31 episodes of the series, which ran for two seasons on Fox from 2008-09. This will mark the first time the show has aired off broadcast. The news comes on the heels of Science Channel making waves by picking up Fox’s cult fave Firefly. Sarah Conner Chronicles will launch on Syfy on Thursday, April 7 at 9 p.m., with an airing of Terminator 3 for a lead-in. Its regular time slot will be Thursdays from 7 to 11 p.m. (So, yes, four episodes in a row!) insidetv.ew.com/2011/02/22/syfy-sarah-connor-chronicles-exclusive/Oh MAN can I even tell you how AWESOME this is? First off having it air in April is great because it'll coincide w/Lena's new series GAME OF THRONES premiering. Also they've been showing T3 no-stop there. T3 & TSCC were all produced by James Middleton, the man who'd still been pounding at doors trying to get a TSCC movie made. IF TSCC can do well on SyFy - how much you want to bet that we hear that the movie will get pushed forward and into production? They can air it first there and then WB sells the DVDs/Blu-Rays after. WOOHOOO!

This is SUCH GREAT NEWS! I hadn't even thought about it coinciding with Game of Thrones. Yes, that is awesome. I also love that it'll be airing when we hit "judgment day" I'd always hoped that this is what would happen — reruns on Syfy which could potentially open the door to more. A series return is very unlikely, of course, but mini series, movie... I think this is a real first step toward it finally being possible.

Is this just America side?
Good news anyway. Certainly a shame they didn't continue it. The story deserves some continuation or wrap up.

Hmm. I don't know. Syfy is available in the UK, right? Maybe they'll run TSCC too.

Hi, Syfy is now channel 114 on SKY subscription. (UK) On this link: tv.sky.com/tvlistingsThere is a small search box but Sarah Connor Chronicles does not show up. (There is that awful cheap film called 'The Terminators' which is not the franchise. Syfy keep showing it, which shows how cheap it must have been to make). Annoying.

That is great news!
In Canada here, we have the equivalent "Space" channel. If SyFy does put out a mini series or movie, then there's a good chance it'll also be brought out to Canada's Space network.
I'm guessing a new mini series or movie which could eventually lead to a whole new tv series. That's similar to what happened with Battlestar Galactica, they ran an initial 2 hour pilot in 2007, then couple years later the series kicked off.
Before that can happen, yeah we'll need the ratings to be really good. Then SyFy can go take it up with the current franchise owners , LionsGate Films I think it was...

...the current franchise owners , LionsGate Films I think it was... Pacificor is who currently holds the rights to Terminator. Sony and Lionsgate were interested when Halycon auctioned it, but Pacificor won out. Last I heard, Pacificor was trying to entice Universal to buy. Since Syfy is owned by NBC/Universal, that could play right into our dreams of WB working a deal with Syfy to produce some sort of continuation to the series. A lot of things that would have to fall into place for that to work out, but at least the reruns airing keeps TSCC alive in the meantime. I'll keep hoping No fate!
