Unique Web Visits to Major 4 Networks in January The major networks had mixed results for visitors to their websites, as Fox (NYSE: NWS-A) and ABC (NYSE: DIS) increased, while CBS (NYSE: CBS-A) and NBC (NYSE: GE) fell for from December to January. It shouldn't be a surprise for Fox, as their powerhouse "American Idol" led the network to double digit increases in visitors. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," also helped Fox to a huge increase of 101 percent in January over December. Overall they drew 4.6 million unique visitors to the site. This is especially impressive since Fox didn't stream any "Idol" episodes during the month. ABC didn't get near that percentage of increase, but the did enjoy an 11 percent surge, led primarily by the reintroduction of "Lost" to the network programming. It was the promotional aspects that drew the increased unique visitors, not the streaming of the show, which will apply to the numbers for February. ABC led all networks with 8.1 million coming to visit the site. NBC dropped in their online visitors also, but were still able to remain solidly in second place for web visits, with 7.9 million people coming to the site. CBS unsurprisingly suffered the worst drop in web visitors, as they plunged by 24 percent, to land in the fourth-place spot overall. They ended the month with only 4.5 million people visiting them online. Source
