From tvweek.com:"Fox is making some major midseason moves, shifting “House” to Mondays and “Bones” to Thursdays.
In addition, the network is giving first-year drama “Fringe” a major boost by scheduling it behind the Tuesday night edition of “American Idol.” New drama “Lie to Me” also will get an “Idol” lead-in, landing behind the Wednesday edition of the reality powerhouse.
Not getting “Idol”-ized: Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse,” which will air Fridays at 9 p.m. starting Feb. 13. Its lead-in will be “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” which is shifting from Mondays to Fridays.
Other elements for Fox’s winter schedule include “Hell’s Kitchen,” which is set to air on Thursday nights, and “Hole in the Wall,” which is relocating to Sundays at 7.
Fox’s midseason kicks off with the previously announced two-night premiere of “24” on Jan. 11-12 from 8-10 p.m. each night. It continues with the four-hour, two-night premiere of “Idol” on Jan. 13-14.
“Idol” is staying put on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Fox’s new Thursday lineup premieres Jan. 15, with “Bones” at 8. “Hell’s Kitchen” debuts its new season Jan. 29 at 9 p.m.
After a brief hiatus, “Fringe” makes its post-“Idol” bow Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. “Lie to Me” premieres Jan. 21, also at 9 p.m.
As for “House,” it moves to Mondays at 8 on Jan. 19, with “24” settling into its regular 9 p.m. time slot the same night.
Fox will stick with unscripted shows on Fridays through mid-February. On Feb. 13, “Terminator” and “Dollhouse” begin airing at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively."SOURCE

Friday the 13th? That doesn't sound good.
Hasn't Fridays always been a bad place for sci-fi shows on Fox?

Well, FOX listened.. but they only half listened. I don't know if Friday is any better than Monday. Yowch.
I think what's most frustrating is that Fringe and that new drama Lie to Me get these big lead-ins but SCC never had that opportunity nor will Dollhouse and that will obviously effect viewership. Oh well. I'll be spending my 8pm hour on Friday night in front of the TV.

I agree! But DAMN! The DVR ratings may improve but it's still a really bad timeslot! And the Move TSCC to Wednesday's Campaign worth like, nothing? It's like the first nail in the show's coffin.

On the bright side, expectations are lower for a show's performance on Friday nights, and genre show the X-Files carved out a nice niche for itself on Friday. So color me at least cautiously optimistic.
What y'all (along with Dollhouse fans) should really be doing is asking Fox to do a nice splashy marketing campaign selling Friday nights as a destination night for sci fi fans.

Friday night's I'm either working or at the mall looking for chicks.
I guess I'll have to be one of those DVR people.

My heart sank a little when I found the article. I just finished cooking dinner for my family and it's a good thing I don't eat the same kind of food as them because I kinda don't feel like eating dinner right now.

Friday is not a good night to be moved to. It's often where shows they feel won't be receiving another season are moved to complete their run.
I'm really depressed about this. This is not a good sign.

Well, consider what the Whedon-fans are thinking right now.
OTOH, as The Turk said, Friday nights have much lower expectations - well, differently lower expectations. But marketing would help.
Ironically, I'm more likely to be home at eight pm on a Friday night, which is possibly sad but there are a few of us nine-to-fivers (or nine-to-severs) who don't have a lot of energy to go out on a Friday.

I just noticed we got paired with Dollhouse. Maybe it's not so bad. And if Zack is actually willing to be ok with this... well, Color me cautiously nauseous then. Damn you, k8ie! I was all ready to be self pitying and all Grrr! *shakes fist* I will have my revenge!

Me too. I was about to suggest we should stand in a circle and cry! But if the turk is right we may delay the crying a bit. But just a bit...

Friday night television is what i call the kiss of death. But it isn't all that bad being on at 8. People don't really start going out until after 9. some shows like ghost whisper have managed to survive at 8 on Fridays. also, it is a good combination pairing it with a joss whedon show. Although it does make me nervous that fox hasn't even released a teaser trailer for the shows pilot. But, like everyone else on here my heart did sink when I heard of the move. We as a group should protest fox's lie detector show and hopefully get it canceled and then maybe we can get are show on Wednesday nights.
