haha, I saw that. Of coarse I didn't see the promo until after I wrote my comment. I am certainly looking forward to Monday! I was really missing Sarah beating on someone. ;D

Sarah also appears to smash a mirror. Like Sarah Connor needs seven more years of bad luck.

Isn't there some kind of anti-hex out there that can counteract the broken mirror bad luck? Something like hopping on one foot in a circle backwards while eating a stale snickers bar?

Maybe the bad karma is averted if you use it to threaten a potentially dangerous tech company CEO?

I would so watch the SERIES finale if it ended with Judgement Day occuring while Devotchka's "How It Ends" played out the entire scene.
That would be the most disturbing, emotional, and sad ending for a TV show.
Seriously, I should be writing for Hollywood. I guarantee that ending would leave people's faces completely stunned.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more with you guys. IMO season 2 has been much better then season 1. 1 was very good, and now season 2 is just fantastic, especially the recent episodes.

Brought over from the Alpine Fields discussion: There's been a real split-cast feel to the last 3 episodes (maybe just a coincidence as shooting and airing order don't always add up), hopefully they'll all be pulling together next week for the finale. I know they have a lot of characters but the show works best when they're all involved a la Mr Ferguson... which we get this week in the UK ;D Yeah, entirely too much split-cast this whole season, I think. They don't all have to be together on every mission, but having them all at the house for 30 seconds every couple episodes isn't quite cutting it. That's what I miss most from season 1 — watching this dysfunctional group work towards the common goal of stopping Skynet. The characters are so much better when they're playing off each other rather than episode guest stars.

Brought over from the Alpine Fields discussion: There's been a real split-cast feel to the last 3 episodes (maybe just a coincidence as shooting and airing order don't always add up), ITA. I think they put themselves into a quandry regarding the characters from the outset this season. They have Riley who Sarah and Cameron don't get on with and consequently her scenes are exclusively with John (and very occasionally Jesse.) They have Jesse who no one but Derek knows about so she exclusively shares time with Derek and necessarily pulls him away from the Connors. Ellison is working secretly with Weaver so those two are the only ones in scenes together. Personally, I like the mix of the main four - Sarah, John, Cam and Derek which has been rarer than rocking horse... um... crap this season. I miss Derek and Sarah cos they're always fun together. I've really missed John and Sarah the last two episodes because they'd spent so much time at loggerheads this season and now, finally reconciled to a point, the last two eps have seen them sharing little to no screen time. It's not just plot momentum that's been edged out by the last two eps, character momentum has also dipped. Having said that though, I have really loved the character development this season, it's just a shame that a lot of it has happened while the main characters have been separated i.e. Sarah in Goodbye to all That which was actually a damn fine episode for all concerned (I have a real soft spot for that ep, it's one of my faves.)

I find it interesting that John has been virtually sidelined except for "Goodbye to All That".
In season one he was being sent to school, so they had an excuse. Plus Cameron was always around him in school. so they were a team.
This season, it's either Derek and Sarah, or Sarah and Cameron. John is completely sidelined except for some hacking occasionally. He's done zip to deal with Skynet and spent most of his time dodging Cromartie because of his and his mother's mistakes.
This last episode was again Sarah and Cameron, with Derek dragged in six months later. Where was he when Sarah and Cameron tried to save the Fields the FIRST time? Shacked up with Jesse? When is SOMEONE in the Connor team going to start asking him where the hell are you and not take "where the hell should I be" as an answer? More importantly, where was the M-79 grenade launcher he showed to Lauren? Would have been rather useful in Cameron's hands in saving the Fields the first time, right? We know from "D&D" last season that a grenade launcher will absolutely DROP a Terminator. Why the Connors go ANYWHERE without one under the car seat and a bandoleer of reloads (notice Derek STILL didn't have any reloads in this week's episode?) is beyond me.
Consistency, writers, consistency!

I spell trouble... right here in River City!
Season 2 is all over the frickin' map. Not consistant. The team isn't working together. John is as weak if not weaker than ever.
Riley sucks, sorry to say.
Cameron isn't progressing much at all.
Sarah is crazier than I am. LOL!
And there's very little action as the name of the franchise implies, and John and Cameron have been split up and John is a jerk weed.
WOW! How the mighty are falling!

Hey! I just wrote a post about this very thing over at the Producer's blog. So glad I found this thread. I agree 1000-fold with those who think the show has been too splintered this season. The eps are being written as if this is a true ensemble show; i.e., each character has a wholly independent storyline. That just doesn't -- and can't -- work, given the premise. (If nothing else, why not give us some sense that Sarah is keeping a wary eye on Cameron and Derek and Ellison; that's she not completely unaware that there are covert shenanigans going on? Something... any little thread...)
A few days ago, in an attempt to renew my enthusiasm, I watched a number of S1 episodes, including the last 2, and then went straight into Samson and Delilah. Sorry to say, but I didn't make it thru to the end of S&D. There was a big disconnect between it and the preceding episode. I can't put my finger on the cause, but whatever it was, it bummed me out.
But to the larger issue: S1 and S2 feel incredibly different from (to) one another. It's all about tone. S1 felt gritty and desperate; this season feels... like sunlit day porches and off-the-shelf computers. Relatedly, S1 felt like character-driven science fiction with action; S2 seems more like drama with action and a sci-fi veneer.
And then there's John.

And what really stands out to me is they've got a list of possibilities in front of their very own eyes, yet, its rarely ever addressed. Considering the list came from a Resistance Fighter, it would seem like they focus on it and the issues they had to deal with on the Turk and where it went exactly.

What you guys forget is that Self Made Man was one of the outstanding episodes of television since City on the Edge of Forever. You can't get better than that episode. See my post discussing it.

I just really, really, REALLLLLLLY hate the terminator-of-the-week. It's extremely bad right now. It's overkill. Yeah, the show is definitely bordering on terminator-of-the-week, which concerns me too. We've only had one ep this season where someone didn't battle a terminator: ep1 - Cam vs John ep2 - Greenway vs Sarah & Cam ep3 - Cromartie vs John ep5 - nameless terminator vs John and Derek ep6 - nameless terminator vs Cameron I think they're trying to do a weekly story in addition to the long-arcs so it's easier for new viewers to pick up the show. But they should find a better way to balance it. Feel like that really does sum up the season thus far, even though that's only been the first six episodes. The same plot devices have reoccurred - ep6 came back in a different format in "Self Made Man" and the Connor family fought Cromartie as a whole. There was Agent Ellison Terminator that lasted all of a few seconds before Ellison was saved. Don't get me wrong I love the show, but thus far I'm really feeling like the first season retained the superior storytelling. Also hoping they get back on track for the second half. While I didn't mind the Terminators and Resistance Fighters of the Week early on. There's so many other connections and possibilities out there to deal with that tie into Skynets possible birth.
