"This has been a big week for The Big Bang Theory's nerd herd. First, they score their best ratings ever, and now they're getting to rub elbows with frakkin' Summer Glau! The Sarah Connor Chronicles siren will play herself in the March 9 episode, the set-up of which already has me ROFWLing: A train trip to San Francisco takes a major detour when Leonard, Sheldon, Wolowitz, and Raj discover that their favorite sci-fi actress in all the land is on board. But the fanboy frenzy quickly gives way to a heated mass debate (tee-hee) when they realize one of them will have to approach her -- but who? It's not too difficult to figure out how this cheeky cross-over came about, provided you know this little detail: The Big Bang Theory and Sarah Connor Chronicles (which returns this Friday) are both produced by Warner Bros. This is what we in the TV biz refer to as extremely positive synergy." ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/02/exclusive-summe.htmlWow, first Summer's hosting Extra, now she's guest starring on a hot sitcom, switching agencies is doing wonders for her career. I also wonder if this will give a small bump to T:SCC's ratings. I guess it depends on how the BBT fans receive her.

So, what did everyone think?
I didn't find it a particularly strong episode. Surprisingly, the writers couldn't come up with anything more interesting to do with Summer Glau and four nerds on a train than have them try to hit on her, which, while that would also totally happen, is not, in my experience working at sf cons, the first thing that happens when nerds meet actors. The first thing that happens is the "So, in episode 9, when you were blown up, why didn't you check under the car? Surely as a terminator programmed to protect John Connor, you would have developed some sort of protocol to establish the integrity of the vehicle he travels in...."

That show didn't appeal to me at all. I'll never watch it again unless Summer some how appears on it again.
I did get a kick out of "It's hot in here... it must be Summer", though. I can see a million of her fans telling her that at conventions, haha.

I only watched the clips with Summer. I don't know how that show usually is with guest stars. But they really didn't give her much to work with.

Well it was easy money anyways for a few hours of honest, clean work. Who can pass that up?

Indeed... dialogue like this would've improved the episode significantly. That's certainly what I would've asked her...

The writers might have as well used a cardboard cut out of Summer, because they didn't have her do anything meaningful except sit there and look pretty.
That was the first and last time, I will ever watch that show. I don't know how anyone who is a sci-fi fan can like that show, when all the writers do is openly mock the stereotypical sci-fi fan. It's sad.

I don't care for that show in general either - tried watching it just once previously. And like thecolors said it best, they might as well had a cardboard cutout of Summer... You could pretty much count the lines she was given on one hand. Probably the best thing she did on that episode was look at them strangely. Talk about a waste of a few hours on set, a waste of great acting talent like Summer's, let alone a waste of network airtime... Ugh...
I don't even know how or why shows like these can even be created, let alone last more than a few episodes when other quality shows hintTSCChint have to struggle to stay on air.

The problem isn't that the show mocks sci-fi fans, the problem is that the characters don't have any redeeming qualities. None of the characters are really likable. It's not like "Married... With Children" or older seasons of "The Simpsons" where they make fun of everything but the characters are still endearing and lovable.
As for Summer being in the episode. It's really more of a cameo than a guest star appearance. They didn't give her anything to do or say.

Guys, you are weird. All of you evidently never seen at least one episode of this show before, and you are blaming it like morons. Thats the exact same reason, why TSCC was cancelled, because some fools like you seen one episode, and judged entire TSCC based on it...
