I just created a fantastic new toolbar to help you all stay connected with what’s going on in the Sarah Connor Society network every time you’re on the web! The toolbar is Internet Explorer and Firefox compatible. I’m using Firefox and it installed easily and looks & works GREAT! The SCS.net Toolbar offers for you quick links to access any of the SCS.net web links (all 3 of our galleries, our community forum, video channel, Multipleverses, etc) and I’ve also included a drop down menu for our Top Affiliate sites for easy, quick access to them! We have a news ticket that allows you to keep up to date on the current news stories that we’re posting on both SCS.net and MV without you having to constantly check our sites. Simply click on one of the story links and it’ll take you right to the article or click on the button on the far left and it’ll take you here! Finally the toolbar also offers a chat feature (which we don’t have available elsewhere on our sites) and quick access to the SCS.net online store for all of your Terminator DVD needs. This toolbar is free and easy to install. It doesn’t have any annoying pop-up blockers attached to it and every time you all install and use it, you’re helping us to ease the financial burdens that are attached to running our site. This is a lot better than us placing ads on the site. So please - click on Mr. Terminator above (or HERE) and download the toolbar - it’s fast, easy, and awesome!

You got me...argh you got me. The only toolbar I'd ever consider downloading. And I found it very easy to install on firefox only took me 3 steps.

Yeah I hate toolbars too, but this was just great because I was able to create it using ONLY the goodies that I wanted on it and everything in our site's network is RIGHT at your fingertips!
The great thing is if I go ahead and change something, the guys who's software that I use for it automatically update all of the toolbars out there that have been added - so you don't have to worry about resetting or whatever.
I think there's a feature where I can post alerts too like remind people of new eps coming up, etc - it's pretty spiffy!

I'm also in the toolbar haters camp. Everything about my machine's optimized, including getting the most viewing area out of the browser - autohide taskbar and so on. But I tried it, and I'm still using it. 1 extra bar height isn't going to hurt anything given Erika's thoughtfulness with everything she put into it. Seriously folks, give it a try. And the "Meebo" chat feature is pretty cool too. It seems to keep a limited chatlog of whoever's chatted there, as I saw a few former visitors left a couple messages there saying they dropped by.

As another toolbar hater, this is the only one I've kept for longer that 24 hours. Great job Erika!

Awesome I'm glad that you like it I particularly like the MV one - I never know where in the hell my sister put everything, it's nice having all of our different sites in one place to access them.

The chatroom doesn't seem to be used very much. It is an awesome feature, similar to an IRC channel. Its almost the same as using say Yahoo, MSN or AIM messengers if anyone's familiar with those. Except this one is dedicated to a SCS channel, any SCS forum member can drop in without even needing to be visiting the forum here. Just fire up Firefox or IE and use Erika's toolbar. :edit / addendum: Some Chatroom tips: I realize this chat room thing is a new concept for some people, who've never used a chatroom before - be it via Yahoo/MSN/Aim group chats, or IRC, or Meebo such as this. It might seem intimidating or confusing so here's a few helpful tips about the chatroom. 1. Usernames: Until you specify a username / nickname, the chatroom logs you in the first time as "guest######" . You can easily set your username by clicking near the bottom of the chat window, in the black bar where its typed in grey "edit nickname" . The chat room will remember this next time you login. 2. Dropping in and out too quickly: Usually when I have the chatroom window open, I also have other browsers or programs open. I usually check the window every few minutes if its sitting obstructed in the background. I do see the occasional "guest" has come by, said hello and is gone again. Sometimes I have the browser partial screen, and the chat window right beside it. Thats not always an option if I'm doing work in another program. You don't need to remain at the SCS forum to keep the chat window open or going. If people give the chatroom a chance, hang around for a little while and keep the chat window open while you surf elsewheres, more people might catch eachother visiting in and be able to use the realtime chat. 3. Edit Info: Specifiy your status! Useful feature here. In the right column, theres the user list of all who's logged into the chat. When putting your mouse over the username, you can see the individual's written status here. Its easy to edit, and put in "temporarily away" or something if your staying logged in but working in another window or program or just stepped away for a while. 4. Private messaging to users in the chat: You can also click on a user's name in the right column and sent the user a private message. It can come in handy sometimes. Go ahead, try the chatroom out

Karma thanks for writing up the tips for using the chatbox. I think I'm going to post them on the main site along w/ my latest update.
Under the SCS Network dropdown I added links to take you to all of the official Fox sites as well as sites where you can legally purchase or watch episodes in the US!
