The article is titled, "The Terminator as a metaphor for Life." Very intersting read. I never knew Josh had kidney cancer, right before he started writing the pilot. "I realized that this show really was about my life. It was about mortality. The first voiceover I ever wrote for the series started with "I will die. I will die, and so will you. Death gives no man a pass." That's what the Terminators are — they're death coming to get us." www.wired.com/entertainment/hollywood/magazine/17-04/ff_terminator_friedman

Wonderful article. I already respected JF greatly, but it just increased again. I lost my best friend to cancer as a teenager, and became highly aware of the presence of death in life.
Whenever I see Terminators, I'm always reminded of the mediaeval depictions of Death, the grinning skeleton dancing with kings and beggars in the Danse Macabre. I find it endlessly fascinating that the Connors have spent their lives running from it, and have now brought Death into their family and are working out a relationship with her.
Best wishes to Josh.

Before this I had no idea that Josh was a cancer survivor. I'm very happy he's still around with us and able to work on the show. Great article.
