I always thought it would be cool to see a bunch of Terminators hanging out together in a future setting.
Playing cards, dancing etc. A nice mix of basic T-888's and other models in endoskeletons and a few infiltrator models with skin & clothing.
It could be an homage to the bar scene in the first Star Wars movie.
Done right this could be pretty neat. Then, have a gray (human) walk in. ;D The whole bar looks at him like a juicy piece of raw meat.

Sounds like those horrible comic books with Terminator chefs and traffic cops.
Why on earth would there be a Terminator bar, and why would they be playing cards and dancing? That's just weird.

TSCC has made a point to show that Terminators have interests and pursuits beyond killing people. They don't lock themselves in a closet when they aren't working. Cromartie always wore Cowboy boots. Cameron dances and goes to the library. Weaver reads stories to Savannah.
I've never bought into the idea that Terminators are mindless drones that are only used for killing. They have some free will. They can pursue things they find interesting. Cromartie had to do something to kill time when there wasn't any leads to John Connor. They showed him listening to country music. He had the boots and the convertible. Cromartie had personality. Even Uncle Bob had his clever moments in T2.
There will be tens of thousands of robots in the future. I can see Robots gathering together the same way that soldiers do. Discussing past missions. Killing time etc. Conversation is a valuable skill for assimilated robots. They need to practice. Games of chance (like poker) would be stimulating to Robots. They could calculate the odds to a thousand decimal points and the element of luck will still change the outcome. It would challenge them just as much as it challenges humans.
The bar scene is the most famous scene in Star Wars. Why not do an homage to it? It would be kind of cool seeing Cameron, Cromartie, Vick and the others hanging out in 2027.

But then they wouldn't be terminators anymore. I think thats too far outside the original movies. I could also argue that cameron hasn't done anything that wasn't mission oriented, even the ballet.

In 2027, I don't imagine there would be any reasonable social places for Terminators to hang out in. But yet they have to learn somehow somewheres. We could argue that "Oh, well, SkyNet's done all the legwork and made it part of the programming onto each chip". And for the most part, that'd probably even be correct, logical, direct and efficient to the point on SkyNet's part. Although, I do have two examples to point out that would say otherwise. 1. In 2x09 "Complications" , where Jesse captures Charles Fischer, a Grey from her timeline who tortured Derek, we see a scene, somewheres inside a SkyNet facility, possibly interrogation chamber - as he's lecturing a group of Endoskeletons about human psychology. Now it wasn't a social gathering bar scene per se, it was actually rather more like an 1800's Medical Theater. Nonetheless, there was a group of Endo's in the dark corner, watching, observing and learning what Charles Fischer had to teach. 2. Theres also the SkyNet labour camps. Limited to minimal human interaction on the social level, possibly some amongst the Endo's themselves. Though there had to be gaurds posted all over to keep the camp running smoothly and the prisoners in check. Great place for observing human behavior and social interaction. Even if its slaves talking and complaining amongst themselves. Especially durring feeding and resting periods. 3. In one of the comic books, SkyNet decides to test a new Endoskeleton, while its a T800, the difference is, its the first "Female" infiltrator unit design (whereas, prior to that point, it was only Male infiltrators). Of course, being a comic, they dolled her up like buxom a biker chic, complete with leather and spiked fashion accessories. One of skynet's tests was setting a few human captive guys free - (a false and elaborate cat and mouse game within its corridors.) Then it let loose the female T800 on the guys, to find out what happens, and if the T800 Female will have an effect on them. The guys were a bit stunned and surprised at first glances, but they caught on pretty quick. She killed two of them, then hunted the third one, finally pinning him against the wall, (wearing a long spiked waist belt) pressed her body to his, spearing him through with the belt spikes and kissed him fully on the lips, literally giving him the kiss of death. She then calculated the guy lived for about 8.9 seconds before dying. What I'm suggesting here is basically, while Terminators may not have reason or need to procrastinate and socialize at a bar scene like we do, they still need to learn and observe humanity socializing. Its where they'd be able to pickup personality and other useful information about humans for infiltrating. The Terminators may even compare notes on what they're observing. I could see the early first few female Infiltrators standing with male infiltrators at one of the work camps, exchanging notes - do's and don'ts based on their observations. I could even picture some infiltrators getting tossed into the mix amongst human prisoners to better adapt at acting human, all the while other Terminators keenly observing. After all, Kyle Reese pointed out the need for Dogs in T1, since the Terminators looked and seemed incredibly lifelike, there was no other way of discerning Terminator from human before it was too late. So that would suggest the Terminators had to actually learn to socialize and such. Just a few thoughts there :edit: But hey - its still an interesting and amusing idea (if one lets their imagination ride a little bit )
