Wow. <----- I think that pretty much sums it up.
Man, my professor last semester was right...science fiction LOVES to quote the book of Revelation.
My only complaint: Not much answering on some old questions (basement?!), while opening new ones. But, I'll let that slide when the series is renewed.
(Hey, I gotta have hope, right?)
Anyway, onto comments...I'm sure I'm going to repeat some of what's been said, and for that I apologize...
I'll start with
Vick's Chip:
Oh Cromartie...don't ye know what a snowglobe is?
I guess those got destroyed in the future too.
Voiceover about the Masks we wear...interesting stuff. I basically got from it that we don't want to believe evil when it presents itself. We don't want to believe a (supposedly) good person can be bad (or even the other way around?).
Loved the burnt roast scene. Bummer. And nice touch with the "pizza day" comments; still trying to be the mom.
So, Cameron speaks
true lies?
Lies when the mission requires it...what is the mission? To protect John, right? Hmmm.... And okay, this deserves a special mention: HALO!!!! (I'm done now ;D)
Oh, John's face was priceless when Cameron said: "She would not be the first human fooled by a machine." As a side thought, why do the terminators need humans for building the infrastructure of Skynet (like the "nervous system", ARTE)? Wouldn't it be easier to just send back a T-888 or something to do the job? You know, take out the middle-man (or in this case, woman).
There were some really nice moments between Sarah and Derek, in both episodes. Heheh...toothbrush! Love it. Still dealing with personal space/property issues. And I like how Sarah lingered on that spot in the underground tunnels where Derek said he and Kyle were... Also, nice catch by Sarah where she kept Derek from killing the cops...Derek is still in 'terminator' mode. I guess that's what tipped her off about his lying that he didn't kill Andy (which, by the way: shower scene...loved it! Talk about putting him in his place!)...I think she must've recognized that look in his eyes.
I also like that Sarah is still concerned over Andy's death. Good continuity.
I like that Derek is kind-of the voice of the audience in a way....
Don't trust Cameron! Maybe she becomes Skynet! Seemed maybe like a nice callback to T2 (the deleted scene when they take Uncle Bob's chip out) b/w Derek and John by the traffic light (at least it made
me think of it); Derek holding the chip...warning John, just like Sarah did... Maybe his warnings are justified. I mean, I felt a little creeped out when Cameron re-awoke and said she "saw everything."
----------------
What He Beheld...:
Awww...Derek and Kyle as kids!! And....Oh. My. GOD. Best birthday present
ever. And probably my favorite moment of the series (so far...
).
Also: Hurray! HALO AGAIN!
The comedy bits were nice: I liked the comment about Sarah, even though it was initially attributed to Cameron: "Harder than nuclear nails..." lol! Ah, Morris...Prom! Oh, man...now SCC HAS to be renewed! Poor guy. When he finds out... Loved the bit about the car and the dead baddie, and: "He said very little, and then he was quiet." LOL! Love the dark humor.
And just because I like mentioning costume stuff: Cameron's shirt...
'like a cat'! A big scary cat.
I liked that Charlie came back. So...Red Horseman of the Apocalypse? Also, nice similarity between Dixon and Ellison, from Silberman and Ellison in "The Demon Hand". I guess they're kinda comrades in battle now, eh?
It looks to me, more and more, that Derek is in the psychological mind-set that Sarah was in at T2...only Derek's gone all the way with becoming the killing machine, whereas Sarah stopped and pulled back (aided a little bit by
Deus Ex Machina ). So,
if when SCC gets renewed, it will be interesting to see Derek's "rehabilitation"...if he can be brought back.
"Her heart's pure." Interesting comment by Derek.
So, I wonder who the little girl is going to grow up to be? Is she going to hate John and help Skynet? Talk about innocence stripped, anyways. I liked that Derek covered her eyes when he shot the guy though.
Interesting little bit with Cameron and the gangsta chica. I guess she got her revenge. Now what's she going to do?
Also...
JOHNNY CASH!!!! YESSSSS!!!! I salute the person who thought of this...I mean, such a ballsy move for an action series. Seriously. Awesome! Beautiful, grotesque, poetic, all in one. I thought the SWAT guys falling into the pool was a great alternative to simply seeing the carnage take place...uses the imagination, and there's just something disturbingly beautiful about it. Then pulling back from Cromartie...
the man in black...ha! In a dark way, very cool. His a$$ is grass now. Killing that many cops is going to call a heck of a lot of attention.
New big question: Why didn't Cromartie kill Ellison? Was it just not his mission (I think some people here have mentioned this); Ellison wasn't threatening him, so he let him go? Or, does he figure that Ellison can lead him to Sarah and John? (Which was what Sarah was saying to Charlie, and why he shouldn't come find her again.)
---------------
Great finale...though, didn't really feel like a finale...or a cliffhanger...it just felt open...like you stopped reading in the middle of a chapter.
And I want to read the rest of the chapter!!!Soooo....memo to FOX: Stop teasing us, and renew the freakin' series already!
And Hell followed with him.... *shudder*
