Random, slightly sleep-deprived thoughts...
Liked the ep, reminded me of Brothers of Nablus, quite a slow-burn story where the plot seemed geared to character moments and setting up threads still to be developed. I did laugh though when Sarah just broke in and asked when they were going to stop "screwing around here", because I was sitting thinking "when's she gonna punch someone, c'mon already!" The final 15 was well worth the set-up.
Cameron's "go back to bed" in Ellison's yard was too funny. "...Nothing to see here..." Sarah, John and Derek seemed surprised when she announced Cromartie's body wasn't there , I'm guessing she went and searched for it off her own accord. At least her head is still in the game.
Lovely John and Sarah, those two are too cute when they're being civil to each other. "I have no idea what you just said." You just got the sense that they've been doing this for so long.
The hair is "the hardest thing to get right." See? It is all about the hair. And it was very lovely in this one
Riley. Am I the only one who felt really sorry for her? I've never hated her character, she's always been kinda sweet but this was the first time I actually really felt for her. I'm guessing she's a future-send back, she certainly seemed to know what the future has in store for humanity. She seemed to be set up as the counter-point to Jesse in this one. Jesse is the one in control and with all the hair stroking and cheek kissing doesn't seem to be above blatant manipulation. Riley came across more as a scared kid, traumatised by whatever her mission is and whatever she's been through in her future. In their scene together Jesse seemed more overtly sinister than she ever has been. I'm guessing she's up to no good but I think Riley might turn out to be an innocent, I'd even guess she will eventually 'fess up to John and be an ally.
Liked the scene with John and Derek where Derek is ragging on the 3 dot chase. Good to see John supporting his mum come what may but interesting to see Derek tactitly admitting that his head isn't in the game. He's been so busy playing house with Jesse he's forgotten the mandate of "no one comes back without a mission." Sarah's not the only one being led astray this episode.
"If I were you I'd try and talk me out of it." Sarah is sexy as hell when she's madder than a snake in a sock and watching her throw a man around like she didn't weigh about a third what he did was pure gold. Shame it really was just a logo though and she'd been chasing phantoms for the whole episode. Does she really need seven years bad luck? I guess if the world is ending and the robots are taking over imminently there's not really any room to be superstitious. Lena Headey had a great episode.
"I wasn't using that to brush my teeth." LOL, funny Derek. Stupid funny Derek, but still funny.
Cromartie at the end was creepier than a creepy thing on creepy night. This is really really not good. Ellison when are you going to get a clue?
I'm sure there's more to talk about but duty calls and you guys have been giving it all a good going over already
