I liked it. But not as much as the premier.
- The moments between Cameron and Sarah were great. They seem to be bonding.
- They are having John take control but he does it rather clumsily. I know people will complain but it's interesting to me. And, yes, I do think he was a bit of a prick. That conversation John is referencing at the end (one of my favorite), Cameron is actually reminding him that there are bigger responsibilities than her or Derek or Sarah. But when he throws it back at her it's like he wasn't listening to what she was really saying. Because he does have to prove himself, that's the whole point. I think there are some lessons to be learned before he is on the right track.
- Riley's alright. Looking forward to more of her.
- Cameron in the bar... hot. Also, they need to let her win a fight on her own. Though this time she was definitely not OK.
- Sarah is absolutely driven and crazy.
- The pregnant lady should be fun.
- Skynet played this really clever. The Connors could not win either way.
The nitpicks:
- So what exactly happened to the resistance fighter? Did the bullet really traveled right after him? Did they not have enough of this with Cromartie's head?
- Cameron's fight was rather repetitive. She gets pounced, someone shoots or distracts the terminator, she uses that to attack.
- They should be really really careful with bringing in a terminator just to be killed in one episode. I know this isn't how it's going to be, but having this happen in the second episode I think sets up the wrong expectation.
- Hiding that terminator in a barrel is just not very clever. Perhaps they had no choice but it should have been made more clear.
- I'm sure there is a ton of issues with the radiation and the nuclear plant security and so on. But I'll happily ignore it.

Ok. Time for my thoughts. Maybe I was in a bad mood from spending last night hunched over a bucket and losing my lunch repeatedly all evening, but this was not my favorite episode.
By a long stretch.
This is up there with the 'quality' of Heavy Metal (1.04) and had all the things I don't like:
-- Pacing too slow -- Terminator of the week -- Whiney John -- Repetitive Terminator fight that goes the same way the rest do. Fight, Cameron's losing, someone distracts the bad robot, and she finishes him off. -- John going right back to school didn't make sense to me
On top of that, Riley definitely did not sit well with me. Not a fan of that character so far and at the rate she's going, I'm really hoping that she ends up as Terminator chow.
Things I liked:
-- The bar scene was well done, if a touch slow. Summer Glau was smoking hot. And the pool scene was amusing. -- Cameron touching pregnant belly. -- The clues painted in blood; I see what they meant by having a way to give them missions now. -- Cameron throughout this episode, really. From apparent fascination with the cartoon to her mopping to her 'Will I?' and to staring Riley down.
I'm really looking forward to the next episode, though. That seems like it'll be much better. But this one was very 'meh' as far as I was concerned. Especially after the awesomeness that was Samson and Delilah.

Yeah, the Terminator fights are getting a bit old - they're always the same. How about some certain ass-whopping rather than the false tension, 'oh no she's losing' no she's not we know it, spare us.

A few random thoughts.... - The John & Riley scenes weren't half bad, in fact for somebody who's always had problems with the character of John Connor this episode was the first time that I actually seemed to care what he had to say. I'll be interesting to see where they go with these two characters.
- Cameron as ever was scene stealing - again. The bar scene was not only amusing it also kind of creeped me out, as it suddenly reminded me of Jodie Foster in The Accused, certainly wasn't expecting that. On a lighter note was that a smug look of satisfaction on Cameron's face as she counted her winnings?
- After yet another Bot on Bot smackdown it has become increasingly apparent that Bots aren't that different to humans. The females may be more advanced in what's going on between their ears but the larger male models still seem to pack a bigger punch. Yet again were it not for the timely intervention of Sarah Connor Cameron was about to have a bad day at the office courtesy of a male Terminator who obviously wasn't paying attention when it was told it's not the done thing for men to beat up women.

On a lighter note was that a smug look of satisfaction on Cameron's face as she counted her winnings? I know right. I didn't notice at first watching which is unusual since my eyes are always riveted on Summer/Cameron. But the second time I noticed that smug smile too. This Terminator is changing rapidly in most areas. I think that's the main reason though. As to why Cameron doesn't stand a chance. Maybe she would with an older model. But to me it's only natural that a female Terminator would be lighter and weaker than a male. Usually the male models are all big, bulky looking which means lots of metal underneath. If they built female models like that they would stick out like a sore thumb in a crowd. Female Terminators are half or less in width than the male ones so they can fit in. Less metal to me means weaker. Although I have to say it would be a nice thing if just once Cameron would kick some serious ass and win. And the Terminator in this episode should have been the one. He wasn't the typical tall, bulky kind of Terminator. He was built after the human Greenway. And that guy really wasn't tall or bulky at all. Yet it looked like she had even more trouble with him than some other fights we have seen between her and a Terminator. And that's confusing to me.

- So what exactly happened to the resistance fighter? Did the bullet really traveled right after him? Did they not have enough of this with Cromartie's head? I was just about to post the same thing. The bullet appears to have traveled back with him, still in motion when he lands in the Present. It is then that he gets struck with it. Wouldn't the bullet be unable to go back? Unless he gets shot AS he is 'warping', and they simply showed the bullet passing through him as an explanation as to why he landed with a hole in his chest..

On Saturday, Josh Friedman explained there will be 13 Episodes per the order this Season, and if ratings are good we will get a full 22. <fingers crossed> At least the numbers look pretty bad for Prison Break as well, that one didn't do very well last Monday either. Hopefully that softens the blow. Damn Football on Mondays..

God, how I hate the ratings in general...

Honestly I never understood the major importance of Nielsen ratings. How many households in the whole USA actually have a box? Is that 1 out of 10? Or even less or more? Can they really tell how many households are actually DVR-ing the show every week because of football or other reasons?

That's good to know.. But if things get really bad is there a chance fox will pull the show from the slot before the remaining eps are all aired?

Not wanting to get into the whole timetravel thing again but doesn't the latest RF come from the newly created timeline already? So a different future than Derek or Cameron came from. That was my take as well, which means that nothing Sarah and John have done so far has stopped Judgement Day and judging by the Resistance Fighter getting shot at the moment he goes back in time - Future!War isn't going well for John up there in the Future... Assuming it's still John calling the shots.

I have to agree with those who felt this episode was slow. I liked the whole interpersonal stuff happening but the actual part that dealt with the powerplant seemed to go on so slowly. I know they can't always go at race pace like with the Premiere but this was really slow.
