I really don't think the intent is to humanize her. After all, Josh has flat-out said he's not interested in her "growing humanity", he's interested in "the nature of a cyborg". What makes Cameron so much more unsettling than any Terminator before her is the fact that she can so convincingly mimic human behavior. She is programmed to be flawless in this respect, as she is, after all, an infiltrator.
When she's remembering the interrogation with Allison, she imitates what she sees - the crying, the despair, the determination, everything. But her chip is so messed up that at some point, she falls completely into the charade. She has the observation of all of these things - Allison's memories, personality, motivations - stored away, so that she can pull from them at any time (of course, future!John probably locked them, so that only now, when she's all effed-up, do they come to surface again).
It's not that she has emotions, or even that she's developing them - it's that she's trying them on for size, experiencing them vicariously. Which is kind of sick, when you think about it. Cameron is learning the effect these things have on people, and how they inform/influence human behavior (like the indignation of being lied to). I don't think she wants to be human at all, but I do think there is a curiosity and a drive to learn more about people... to what end, and for what reason, who knows? To be a more effective infiltrator? To sort out her own existence and relationship to her "creator" (mankind)?
It's a fascinating development.
She's crossing against the light.

Awesome clips... thanks for these! This is the episode I'm most looking forward to. I'm probably biased though as it centers on a military academy. Ace

I didn't reload them. I just posted an alternate link to allergygals site. It's all her. I had nothing to do with it.

I want to thank every one for their opinion about my previous question in regards to how they feel about the season progression & the comparison to last season as well.
This time around I have a pair of questions.
First of all: What’s going on with this rumor about the possible cancellation of the series? It’s absurd! I know that the live viewing ratings have been a little bit down, but aren’t they taking in to affect all the DVR numbers. As well as all of the viewings on the internet. If FOX feels that it’s best series T: SCC is bringing down Prison Brake, then they just need to move T: SCC to Wednesday nights in a time slot next to Bones.
Second: When do you think that Derek &/or John will confess to Sarah that Derek knows he’s really Johns uncle? I am absolutely taken away by his character on the show. Great script writing.

Have they really told that many young guys about Terminators? It's hard not laughing at BAG playing soldier. David Silver was such a wimp in 90210. Took him seven seasons to score with Donna. I'm not sure BAG will ever break typecasting. BAG is very skilled playing the ultimate EMO guy. A little beard stubble doesn't make much difference.

Yeah probably, but compared to Thomas Dekker he's not all that bad. Dekker may be a fine young actor possibly even in the mold of the late River Phoenix but he just doesn't have any physical presence.

That is a show that would never appeal to a person like me. So I don't typecast him as a "wimp" who took seven seasons to score with Donna. Whoever she is?!? So I guess it's easier for me to view him, and the amazing job, he is doing as Derek Reese. Whereas for you obviously you see him as a different character. But like I said all depends on the person viewing and his/her experience. BTW... nice beginning of a name! Ace

Can you shoulder fire a Barrett M82 from a standing position? No? Can you run, jump, and hit your marks on the first take when explosive charges are detonating 10 feet from your ears? Win a stare down contest with Dean freakin' Winters? Get back to me when you can... And holding 90210 against Brian is as silly as holding The Sum of Us against Russell Crowe, Valley Girl against Nic Cage, Full Frontal against Eric Bana, or Max Dugan Returns against Kiefer Sutherland. A lot of credible action stars got their start in roles that didn't particularly suggest their future career courses.

I've been a fan of BAG's for a long, long time. Even going back to Knots Landing. His forte has always been sensitive / troubled characters. Seeing him in a uniform was a little startling. It may not be an issue with younger fans that didn't see him in the other roles.
Didn't mean any offense. Every actor has their unique talents and range. There's a lot of actors that could never pull off the roles Brian is famous for.
I see the forum has a pair of Aces. ;D I got my nic in High School because I worked part-time at a Hardware store.

I didn't take offense, I would just encourage you to watch his performance as its own thing and not bring all the baggage of his earlier work into it. The guy gets way too much grief based on a: 90210 and his ill-advised stab at a rap career, and b: his damned impressive luck with the ladies.

It may not be an issue with younger fans that didn't see him in the other roles. Well, I don't think I was that young that I missed him in 90210. I just never watched the show. Never saw the appeal in that type of show. I know a lot of my lady friends loved it, but could never get me to watch it. I see the forum has a pair of Aces. ;D I got my nic in High School because I worked part-time at a Hardware store. I got my nickname in High School as well but for a different reason, unfortunately it is far too long of a story to be told in a single post. But it had to do with me wanting to join the military since I was in 2nd grade. Ace

This looks like it'll be a very good episode. This is the first time we see John get military training. We know Sarah and him got some training in South America, but that is back story and wasn't shown in the movies.
I'm glad the military is finally getting the respect they deserve. My dad retired from England Air Force Base in Alexandria Louisiana.

I never watched much of 90210 either, and I have no trouble with Brian's performance as Derek. He seems tough enough in the role. From seeing him in interviews, he seems to be basically a nice guy, so that makes it harder to see him as a tough soldier. But I have no trouble believing him as Derek.
It will be interesting to see how he plays Derek when the new Resistance girl comes in.
I know how hard it is to ignore an actor's previous long running roles. It took me until his third James Bond movie to stop seeing Roger Moore as "The Saint" up there on the screen.
All of the actors on Terminator have been first rate, even some of the smaller one-time roles have been played well by the "bit players". They're obviously spending some effort on the casting.
