Good eye! Both Jody's parents house and Marty Bedell's house are redresses of the same place, the so-called "Lethal Weapon" house on Warner Ranch. It's best known as Det. Murtaugh's house in the Lethal Weapon moves. My writing partner and I were so geeked out the first time we saw it that we reenacted the Mel Gibson/Gary Busey fight on the front lawn. So, um, Zack... who got to be Mel and who got to be Gary?

Is it just me or aside from the season opener, has this season been rather dull? It just doesn’t seem to have the same type of suspense as the first season. I am a huge fan of the franchise in general, and I have become almost obsessive with the series, but thus far I have not been overly impressed with this season. Just my thoughts. What’s yours?

I'm on the opposite end. I think it has matured greatly and the episodes thus far have really made us think a lot. If anything the series might be a little deep and complex for most viewers which IMHO is a major plus. I am so tired of shows that think that they're all that and a bag of chips. That are are all slick and bang bang boom. I applaud SCC for making a thinking persons series. Season 2 is just more beefy, and always does a good job of asking questions by giving us more questions with a sprinkling of answers. If Fox is smart they'll realize they have a winner. I am hoping ratings will rise but the fact that they haven't dropped below the 5 million mark and are holding steady is good. And loosing to Chuck by 1.1 million can only be seenas a good thing.

My "Grand Unified Theory of TSCC" is that Cameron is motivated by pure self-aware survival need to hide out in the past and stay close to Connor so that she survives no matter what happens in the future.. No way, that would wreck the entire storyline. Cameron is a protector. She'd die to save John. Is it just me or aside from the season opener, has this season been rather dull? Yes, Samson & Delilah was the best episode ever. The following eps were cool, especially like Mousetrap, up until Allison from Palmdale, which derailed the characters and their motivations. Derek & Charley wasn't in it and they were all sitting around...while the writers messed with Cameron's character...basically humanizing her, which is very un-terminator-ish. Mod Edit - don't double post

"No way, that would wreck the entire storyline. Cameron is a protector. She'd die to save John."
No, it would vastly expand the storyline. And to view Cameron as just a machine - even an emotional machine - simply programmed to protect John, while "romantic" from a teenage point of view, it's really minimalist. Any writer - and most likely Summer as an actress - would like the character to be more complex than that.
Why rehash "Uncle Bob" in T-2? Make Cameron more interesting. She could still have all her "need" for John and emotional development to some degree, but it would be much more complex and interesting if she was a "real" entity than just a programmed "protector".
As I mentioned in another thread, that would be about as interesting as watching a show about a truck (not counting "Knight Rider"!) Or, as I say, a rehash of T-2.

As for the comparison of this season to last, keep in mind that last season was nine episodes, cut short by the strike. This season they have to span the story over at least 13, and perhaps 22, episodes. So they're taking a more deliberate pace with the story development. They're trying to have more episodes that more or less "stand alone" so not everybody who tunes in has to know every detail of last season and every episode in order to follow what's going on.
Personally, I think they should pick up the pace a bit. But then, they've got a budget they have to arc over the season as well.
As I've mentioned on this board, I have some ideas about expanding the story line considerably, making it bigger, without necessarily increasing the budget or needing bigger special effects or locations. It's a matter of characterization and intensity of concept. But I'm not working for Josh, so there's nothing I can do to speed things up.
Besides which, not every episode can be a barn burner. I expect the episodes to get better as the season wears on. And if they get another 9, I'm sure Josh has some surprises up his sleeve.

Eagle Eye Cherry's song plays in the pilot’s opening scene at John new school were he meets Cameron. John is listening to Pardon Me by Incubus. Hey I have been trying to find out the song that plays in the cell phone store. Season 1 episode 3 where Sarah meets Andy Goode, you can barely here it but you can hear a little better with ear phones on. Do any of you know?

Derek seems to be back for now. That first clip seems a little melodramatic I hope it plays better in context.
It's cool that Derek's uniform says Baum. He must be passing as John's uncle after all (most likely as a brother of Sarah's). Does that mean Sarah knows he knows about Kyle? I wonder how that conversation went.
