Was I hallucinating, or does anyone else remember seeing the scene in the room with the piano where Derek was tortured by Cameron? The version I downloaded on my iPod doesn't have it, and Television Without Pity's summary didn't mention it.

In the episode, it never shows the room physically. All we're aware of is Derek being brought into the room and suffering whatever fate befalls him.
I had to rewatch it again myself to be sure.

No they show Derek going down into the basement but we never see what happened. That's something that was apparently going to be addressed in the last episodes of the season but they didn't since the strike interrupted things.

Darn it. That bothered me so much about D&D. I love the episode and all but they made such a big deal out of that room then no pay off. What's even more frustrating is that everyone who was held prisoner there knew but they never said!

The strike is at fault for that, but I'd say its very likely we'll be getting a season two despite the talk of the show being in possible cancellation territory.

Well, I watched all episodes again, and here is what I come up with: Cameron has something to do with Derek down there in that room, even if it was not shown.
1) The music. Recognized it? "The Demon Hand" ends exactly with this little piece of classical music and Cameron doing some nice Ballet to it. Ever wondered why Reese has tears in his eyes while watching her?
2) After Reese returns to the resistance, he recognizes Cam immediately as "metal".
Hmm ... so I guess we can say that something happened down there between the two of them. And maybe it was not that pleasant, otherwise Reese wouldn't been so keen on destroying Cam as soon as he saw her again down in the resistance bunker. And why not go a little further: maybe Cam has something to do with the prisoners being released ... this one would give the Derek-Anti-Cam-thing a nice little twist if it would be revealed in Season two. What do you think?
So long

You're assuming it was the same for each person... Ooooo, a hint! Okay so it is possible then, that Andy Goode didn't build Skynet, but was brainwashed into thinking he did. And that Derek was coerced into giving up the location of the bunker.

What's even more frustrating is that everyone who was held prisoner there knew but they never said! Another example of this show allowing for a lot of speculation and 'What Ifs' before they finally give an answer or a resolution. I love it. It gives plenty to discuss on the Net as well as with friends who watch the show. I love having conversations with my buddies the morning after each episode comparing notes and explaining what we think happened. One of the many reasons I love this show. No spoon feeding ;D 1) The music. Recognized it? "The Demon Hand" ends exactly with this little piece of classical music and Cameron doing some nice Ballet to it. Ever wondered why Reese has tears in his eyes while watching her? Another Scene open to interpretation. I think that it might be explored later. My thoughts were either he was shocked that a Machine was capable of something so amazing, beautiful, and human-like. The other being that it brought back painful memories of the Basement, but I prefer my first idea. We shall see
