Riley, Jesse, Derek. All time travelers. They all have doubles or will have doubles at some point. Judgement Day is currently unstoppable. Would you kill your double so they don't have to experience judgement day and the future wasteland?
Example: An older Riley kills her baby-self in the future so it doesn't grow up wandering a wasteland.
The opposite of this would be that Riley finds her other self and raises it better.
Derek takes the stance of not interfering, but Riley is pretty emo cause they'll all be turned into bleached skulls!!!
Discuss what you think each character will want to do in the future.

I doubt Riley is going to live long enough to worry about her double. And neither will Jesse, whose double is way off in Australia anyway.
Derek, yeah, it's interesting how he's willing to go see his young self and stay completely away. That's the most rational approach. Limit his interference with the past to stopping Skynet.
I find it interesting that John hasn't been interested in watching his father's younger self any further. While that might be interesting characterization, I don't think the writers want to go there.
And if they bring Kyle back into the present time, that's going to be interesting - both because of his younger self, and because both brothers are now united again in the past (if in fact, Kyle ever does get reunited with Derek.)
I don't think most people would kill their younger self just to avoid future pain. I think most people would definitely try to change their younger self's future by protecting them, and a few would take Derek's way and let it play out since that's how they ended up. It would depend on whether how one ended up before coming back in time is considered by that person to be a good end or a bad end or a neutral end.
In Riley's case, she was in a bad place before she came back, and she's in a bad place now. And she's weaks, so she might well kill her younger self.
In Jesse's case, she was in a good place in terms of her personal view of herself in the future, and she still thinks she's correct, so she wouldn't.
Derek doesn't seem to be sure either way. He was willing to consider suicide in the future, but as long as he has his mission in the past and that mission has not definitely failed, I don't think he would kill his younger self, and I'm not sure he would even if he knew his mission would fail.
Cameron's situation is certainly interesting. Unless she is destroyed, she definitely will live long enough to encounter her double. On the other hand, given that she went back in time, it's likely that in that time line Cameron's double will never exist. It would be pointless of Skynet to create a copy of Allison when that copy already has lived with John Connor for several decades. It would be amusing if Skynet tried to capture "Allison" to create Cameron only to find out that who it captured was already Cameron. That would be a headache for Skynet. On the other hand, it might be a God-send for Skynet - having the Terminator that John has lived with for decades would tell him everything it needed to know about John.
Of course, all this is just ridiculous time travel nonsense, as usual.
