I liked everything except for Skynet. They made Skynet out to be an idiot. Using Marcus and Kyle as a trap to bring John Connor to San Francisco was an interesting idea but extremely poorly executed. Did Skynet really not consider the possibility that John Connor could take down the two Terminators that Skynet sent to kill him? And why did Skynet go all cliched supervillain on Marcus? "Thanks for luring John Connor into my trap. Now I'm going to kill him and there's nothing you can do to stop me, unless you escape from this completely unprotected room, make your way down to the factory and help Connor fight the T-800." Skynet needs to read "Watchmen" and take a lesson from Ozymandias.

The ending though. What the hell? It's a pause until the next one.. Your first thought leaving a movie should not be "dude, severe lack of immosuppressants after the apocalypse."

I saw it today and it was beautifully made.
Sad that some of the best ideas came right out of the TV series.
Robot love, Covert submarine, Even maybe a possible explanation as to why Cameron could eat food and said she was different.
The A10 pilot had an incredible likeness to Summer Glau. She would have fit that role nicely.
Can't figure out why they would cancel a series on the eve of a revival in terminator interest.

The ending might have been better if Kyle had been he one who go impaled and John had to give up his heart to save him since he would have been a match.

I have to agree. There was one point in the trailers where she turns around all dramatic like that I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't Jesse.

Marcus was part human. He even thought he was human. Cameron was a machine. The movie was already in post production by the time season 2 of TSCC began, before the episode that revealed that the Resistance had a submarine. Cameron eating food was not original to the series. In the original draft of the T1, the Terminator ate a candy bar whole, without taking off the wrapper. The idea was that the Terminator had small genetically modified organs to sustain its skin and it needed food to keep it alive.

Allison young believed she was human.... Marcus Wright believed he was human. Summer's machine body could consume food suggesting she had a few organic organs. red mark on the arm to say you are a resistance fighter... Clothe on arm to show you are a resistance fighter. Summer Glau's terminator hair style resembles A10 pilots hairstyle. Even though Summer is identified with German ancestry many have noted she seems to have some Asian facial characteristics. Candybar/ Original draft never made it to the theatre's therefore it can not be accepted as Canon. Marcus Wright's endo resembles T-900 extra-plated endo... Cameron was an advanced terminator and people in this very forum have speculated she may have been a T-900 or some other advanced proto-type. In the Marcus Wright chained scene when he looks down you will notice about three rows of rectangular plates protecting is stomach area. Whether the series borrowed ideas or the movie borrowed ideas it's obvious there are many similiarities. Terminator 3 Arnold says that the power cell is a Hydrogen fuel cell (Hydrogen fuel cells are not nuclear, There are automobiles that use HFC technology)..... In series Cameron says hers is Nuclear....... In Salvation it is acknowledged that the power supply is Nuclear.

Allison young believed she was human.... Marcus Wright believed he was human. An episode made after T4 had already finished filming. The script for the film was already finished by around the beginning of 2008, before they even knew that there was going to be a second season of TSCC. Again, this was an idea from the original draft of T1. Also, the skin is an organ so all T-800's had "organic organs." That's not an original idea at all. Organizations throughout history have worn certain insignias to identify their affiliation. The Nazis for example, wore swastikas on their arms to identify themselves. How is that relevant to anything? Do you think that Summer's hairstyle is completely original and invented just for the show? Why does that matter? James Cameron thought up of the idea. TSCC took the idea from James Cameron so how do you know T4 didn't take the idea from him too? Even if they did take the idea from TSCC, credit still belongs to James Cameron otherwise it would be like saying that General Electrics invented the light bulb just because they made them more recently than Edison. The T-900 was from the T3 video game. Again if TSCC took it from another source, how can you claim that T4 took it from TSCC? That was obviously a mistake since the fuel cells did cause nuclear explosions. We never seen any of the Terminators in TSCC cause nuclear explosions but we did see the T-850 in T3 cause two nuclear explosions similar to the one in T4.

there were some good points brought here. maecus was interesting. i mean he seemed more human than machine. he could think for himself and make his own decisions. when he was in that room before he saved john he made a choice to leave to shave him instead of following orders. i wonder how the transition is made from him to a terminator that is made only for teh termination of humans?

You all really made good points. I also read some McG intervies where he sais that he kinda took a page from Josh Firedman's book, even if he said that he wasn't exactly merging the stories together. I also noticed that the drones used are more similar to the Kaliba drones that the ones in T3. One thing that I don't get here is this: If Marcus was a more advanced infiltrator model (coz seriously what could be a better infiltrator that a terminator who thinsk HE'S HUMAN?) why where they designs for a T-800 at the beggining of the movie seen as the latest Terminators? Was Marcus designed for the especific purpouse of luring John Connor to Skynet or was he planned to be the first of a new series of models? Also,I have to say that they didin't close the door for a possible crossover with TSCC completely,Kyle Reese never mentioned his brother but didn't talk about his familly that much, and considering that in TSCC we only saw images of the Reese brothers in the future when they where older, there's still a chance And it was 2018,so Cameron hasn't been built yet,and the whole MArcus thing opened the window of John Connor trusting a machine All in all I thought it was real good, excelente visually effects (the arnold blew me away!!) and it kicked T3's ass!!! LOL Oh I jusr remebered somethibng, when Marcus signs the form from the docotr,it read Ciberdyne.Wasn't Ciberdyne supposed to be destroid in t ?Was there any reference in T3 that cyberdyne was still active??Coz I really don't remember.
