Lost was the big winner at the 34th Annual Saturn Awards, but Summer did tie for best supporting actress with Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost. Jennifer Love Hewitt won best actress and Lost won best TV series.
Congratulations to Summer!

Congrats Summer!
Now we can have T: SCC a show starring Saturn Award Winner Summer Glau as ammo...if the shows future is ever in doubt again.

This is only the beginning. I know some people here are a bit disappointed that TSCC didn't win all the awards. However, a year ago, no one could have forseen this. This is a major victory for us. And after today, not only are we going to go to the Hugo Awards, we're going to the SAG Awards, and the WGA Awards, and the Teen Choice Awards. We're going to the People's Choice Awards, and the Golden Globes, and the Emmy's. And then we're going to the Grammys, and the Oscars, and the Nobels. And then we're going to Washington D.C., to take back the White House. YEEEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Where as other's have had a lot more time to develop a character, it speaks volumes of Summer Glau's innate talent to be even considered on the basis of a mere nine episodes. Coupled with the fact that the writing and directing on SCC left something to be desired, you really have to tip you hat to Summer Glau.

Actually the writing and directing on the show are both amazing and very good. Unfortunately for us season 1 was marred by the fact that Josh Friedman who's the show's main creative producer was out on the writer's strike picket line and was unable to have say over the final cuts of most of the episodes. James Middleton certainly did the best that he could but in the end there might've been a few loose ends left on the editing floor that Josh would've probably caught and left in.
I guess that's what the deleted scenes on the DVDs are for to fill in those holes.

Well until the release of the DVD package we'll have to agree to disagree on the relative merits of the season (no harm in that). I agree that perhaps the deleted scenes may well cast a new light on the show though.
