Since they've already killed off a good chunk of TSCC's cast this season, I was speculating with some people at the TSCC wiki about what characters we might see appearing in season 3. The name of Danny Dyson came up, and I actually liked the idea of introducing him into the story. He'd be about John's age in the current timeline, so he could potentially work well as a "buddy" character to John, similar to how Morris was in season 1. However, when I was on that train of thought, another idea came along... If Danny is a friend of John's, and has knowledge of Judgment Day, where is he in the future? And then it hit me... Andy Goode changed his name after Judgment Day because he didn't want anyone to know the role he had in Skynet's creation, so where does that leave Danny, the son of the man with whom Skynet began? Assuming it's fairly well known in the future that Skynet began with Miles Dyson at Cyberdyne, it's reasonable to believe that the name "Dyson" carries a negative connotation with it. With this in mind, it's quite probable that his son Danny would have changed his name during the war to keep a low profile. And that brings me to the big oomph concept! Suppose that Danny becomes Major General Justin Perry, the leader of Derek and Kyle Reese's resistance unit? He apparently reports directly to John Connor and is a member of his innermost circle, and if he was someone who John trusted before the war, it would make sense that John gives him a high level of trust during the war. So, what do you think... Is this idea interesting, or have I gone crazy?
