Oh, why the heck not.
In the two-part season finale, there was one brief moment where John was working on his laptop with his Mom sitting next to him and watching him over his shoulder. She starts stroking the back of his head, as Mothers are wont to do, and John flinches away slightly, as emo teen guys are wont to do.
Watching that, I swear the first thought to enter my head was, "Good grief, I bet that clip is gonna end up in some truly disturbing fanvids".

Didn't bother me, my mom used to always tuck my hair behind my ears when I was young, it ticked me off because I preferred to not have my ears stick out by having my thick locks behind them.

It's funny (or sick?) how many people have mentioned that scene on message boards. For me, it just played like a mother just wanting to be close to her son after nearly losing him. I thought it was sweet.

I didn't see it as anything more than a motherly touch. I'm surprised to see so much mentioning of it like that as well.

Tread lightly folks - we don't condone ships that are illegal on these boards.

People misread things or read wat too scary deep into things, it's always bound to happen. I'd pick Derek/Sarah if I wanted to go in this "area" of keeping it in the family. Not that D/S is bad, just too 'Hamlet' for me.

Uh it's not the same - Derek and Sarah aren't blood related. There's a long history of brothers marrying their dead brother's wives, goes all of the way back to the Bible and beyond.

Heh, I'm relieved we're not talking about John x Sarah anymore.
That's just completely sick. HOWEVER, if we do see Sarah die in SCC, it won't be surprising to see more scenes like this between John and Sarah to emphasize the effect of her death on John.

Considering this show is about Sarah - I think she's probably safe from dying until the finale

Exactamundo and if a character's name is in a title then death isn't in the cards unless its temproary.

Even if Sarah does die in the finale, my post is still valid. (More 'loving moments' will be set up to emphasize the effect of Sarah's death on John).
And at the moment, I think it's a very likely ending for Sarah to die in the finale. Off screen, and in a John's [Sarah style] monologue after achieve whatever their ultimate goal was in the SSCverse.

The problem is the rules have changed here and so has the timeline by allowing them to jump forward. The trigger and pattern of events may have changed as well.
Take S.M. Stirling's trilogy for instance, Sarah didn't die in our timeline at all. She died after the war at a much older age. In fact, she was watchful of John the entire course and dies of old age within the novels.
That's not taking into account the reasoning behind her death offscreen in T3. Linda Hamilation chose not to come back, although she was in early drafts.
The rules maybe different in this verse entirely.

My hunch is that the whole point of jumping the Connors forward in time was to ensure Sarah's survival whether or not Judgement Day comes. I think sending Derek back and bringing Sarah forward are John Connor's attempts to save the people closest to him and by saving them, maybe he can save the world.

That's definitely a good possibility.
