Robots aim guns at wrong targetsPosted 04/15 @ 2:15pm by James Harrison Skynet will have to wait a little longer. After experimenting with putting live guns on robots, the U.S. Army has hit a little snag: The robots began aiming their guns where they weren’t supposed to. Now the pessimists among us are probably already hoarding food and guns, searching their phone books for anybody named John Connor, certain the machines that make modern life possible are preparing to overthrow us and take over the world. The reality is probably that some overworked and underpaid programmer made a few mistakes when he coded the basic programming. Regardless of the reason, the result is the armed robots, called SWORDS units, have been pulled out of Iraq. One expert stated that “once you’ve done something that’s really bad, it can take 10 or 20 years to try it again.” Given that pointing a gun where it shouldn’t be pointed is almost as bad as you can get, it’s likely that the idea of the robot soldier has been pushed back to far in the future. Well, for those disappointed by the lack of robot revolution, there’s always “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” Source - looks like Sarah Connor has a fan at Michigan State

Very nice...
I note that they were going to be called SWORDS-
That's what the Machines in the movie SCREAMERS starring Peter Weller were called.
Some may think I'm on glue but I stand Beside Screamers as the Best Non-Terminator Terminator Movie yet!

That's the one with Peter Weller and the scary little things under the sand? That movie was creeeeepy.
I'm not sure what my favourite non-Terminator Terminator flick would be but Screamers or possibly Trancers (which I was reminded of just today) would be it.

I loved Screamers. I wanted a sequel or a remake. My other choice was an old movie called Hardware. I really loved that one.
