Because of my home situation I'll have to order later.
I'll only be getting standard...because I have no way to get a Blu-Ray nor do I really want to invest in one.

Oh man, you don't know what you're missing. Seriously I'm so freaking addicted to anything that's HD I can't STAND watching regular DVDs or broadcasts. I swear 1/2 of why I loathed the first 1/2 of this season of Smallville was because we didn't have the CW broadcast in HD. Now that it's HD my enjoyment overall is way up...(that and the quality of the writing has vastly improved.) Then again I'm lucky enough to live w/ a techno-guru (sister Kate - our video god) who loves everything hi-tech. Our family had VHS players, cable, and DVD players before anyone else. Currently we've got a DVD recorder/VCR, DVD player, HD Player, and Blu-Ray players all hooked up to our 65" DLP TV w/ Direct TV. (I have massive remote anxiety.) Yeah - is there any wonder why our site gets the slamming video content?? I personally love both HD disks and Blu-Ray. HD's take less time to load and the functions on them are a snap to learn and use. Blu-Rays take longer to load, but HOLY COW the picture quality is mind bogglingly bright and crisp. I can't WAIT for getting TSCC on Blu-Ray. I'm getting the regular set to have on hand to cap the special features and interviews on them. (Must get Blu-Ray player for my computer!)

Well if I sold some of my scripts or did amazingly on my book publishing of even...Won the lottery and finally could afford anything.
Then I'd do it.
As it is...I have no place...and a reg dvd player in my laptop and wath all my DVD's on a 15 inch screen.
And frak it if I don't Screen cap all the Episodes using the awesome Topaz moment.
And yes those are coming along...I just want to grab them all first lol.

Blu-Rays take longer to load, but HOLY COW the picture quality is mind bogglingly bright and crisp. I ended up being an early HD-DVD adopter and bought a player right out of the gate. Unfortunately they are done, but now I have been able to pick up a LOT of HD-DVDs relatively inexpensively. ;D I have my PS3 as a Blu Ray player, now that they have updated their video encoding over the early titles, I am more excited to have the player. I am also spoiled on HD formats. I normally don't buy DVDs anymore unless they are HD or BR.

Well it depends on the film - most chick flicks or comedies that I probably won't watch over and over I don't bother buying in HD format. Action films, sci-fi, or anything that I know will be visually stunning I get in HD or Blu-Ray.
Kate and I don't mind having the HD player - we have A LOT of HD disks, it'll mean that the player will last forever since we don't have gobs of them.
We watched SERENITY not long ago on HD and thought our eyes were going to pop out w/ how gorgeous it looked.

RBR wishes he had a life that would allow him to have such luxury. Let alone live in something that doesn't have 4 wheels and a running board...and isn't a Chevy or a Ford..Honk Honk.
