We got to talking about the Connor house in the spoiler board and there's nothing spoilery about this so I brought it over here. There was something very fun about seeing Sarah Connor in Lorelai Gilmore's old front yard. ;D Wait, Sarah Connor took over the home of the Gilmore Girls? Not quite. The exterior of the swing set side of the house was the Gilmore Girls' house. The rest wasn't. Connor house: Gilmore house: They covered up the lattice work along the top of the porch, enclosed the left side of the porch, painted, added a swingset and scattered some debris in the yard. The rest of the Connor house is on Midwestern St on the WB backlot (right next door to Charley Dixon's house) across from the Stars Hollow gazebo. The section of the house shown in the inset photo above is really all we ever see of this location's exterior (although from a different angle). From the wider overhead orientation, it's the left side of the house (with the victorian spire) that Lorelai's house doubled for. Obviously the Connors couldn't be living in a big, lovely victorian home They kept the shots focused tight on that side porch (kitchen door) so the house seemed smaller. Interiors were shot here too.

I knew they were using the set of Gilmore Girls, but I wasn't aware that the exterior of the house was the same as the one on Gilmore Girls. Thanks for the info.
Karma Tonya!

I get horrible teen drama nightmares of John and Cameron now that I know that they shot in the house that Gilmore Girls was in (yes, I'll admit to having NEVER watched that show).
"And now, for a very special episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles..."
Anyways, the pic of the full backlot is interesting and now I really wonder how Charley didn't know about Sarah already. They lived next door! (j/k)
That explains the gazebo in all the shots when TV Addict went on set. That's where everyone would go, eat lunch, and chat apparently. It's kinda cool.

I'll admit I did watch a few episodes of Gilmore Girls, when it first aired back in the day. So I'm surprised to see the house be put to use in a different format then again that's the back lot for shows and movies in general.
I do find it funny that the Dixon house is right next store though. Makes the scene with John rushing to get help from him seem kind of funny now since its side-by-side in reality.

It's all irrelevant now, but I just have to point out that the stairs that Cameron shoves the goon through in Samson & Delilah was never there before. They obviously built a makeshift set of stairs just for that purpose. They stuck the stairs where the hot water heater had always been, moved the HW heater to the back corner under the stairs, replaced the washer & dryer with a set of shelves and put a door on the rear of the room (which had always been an open pass-through). I'm probably the only one to have noticed.

So, I guess you don't have to do an interior map now, allergygal?

I think I will at some point, just for fun. Once I know what all the rooms are (like where are Cam and Derek's bedrooms).
ETA: I love the new house, but somehow it seems to nice for Sarah and John.

So why does Cameron need a bedroom, wouldn't the closet under the stairs suffice?

So why does Cameron need a bedroom, wouldn't the closet under the stairs suffice? Well she doesn't actually need a bed since she doesn't sleep, but she does still have clothes and stuff. She had a bedroom in the other house, so I'm sure she's got one in this house. And it might look a little odd if Riley or Kacy ever noticed that Cameron has no bed.

Well if Charlie moves in (talk about the dysfunctional family from hell) then there gonna be squeezed for space. Certainly can't see him being in the frame of mind to be sharing with Bot Girl. Could be off to the tool shed for Cameron.

Being new here, I'm late to this thread but wanted to give a big Thank You to allergygal. My husband and I watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls (yes, even when we wanted to give up, we didn't) and just KNEW it was the same house. We'd heard/read Joss say some of the sets were similar and had sworn it was the GG house but until now, never had it confirmed. Can't wait to show dh the pics when he gets home. Also thanks for the link about their new house. Very cool.
