I've been banned from there twice now (on the same account). Here's the ironic thing about it, I've never received notice about the bannings and they never gave me a reason as to why. I haven't used any profanity, no spoilers, nothing. You know, even if I did break a rule, I'm pretty sure they should let people know when they do.
That forum is highly unorganized and has TERRIBLE moderation.

Can't say I've ever been on their forum.

That's pretty sad considering it's network owned.

So, the first time I was banned I e-mailed the main moderator apologizing for w/e it was that I did, then my account was reinstated. Then, last night I sent a message to him telling him poor the moderation is on that forum and that I didn't even care to return to the forum, but he actually reinstated my account again and told me that he'd be watching over the other moderators (he even made it clear that he couldn't find any violations in my posts). I think one of the mods on that forum just doesn't like my opinions, haha.

Official network forums always suck. Usually from idiotic posters, not bad moderation, though.
I remember the official Andromeda.tv forums were awful, compared to the USENET newsgroup and especially the SlipstreamBBS forums. Too many posts each day to keep track of, even for someone with as little life as me...and most of them by complete idiots.
The official SciFi.com forums for the new Battlestar Galactica were practically useless due to the high amount of traffic, again mostly by idiotic teen fanboys. The main USENET newsgroup was almost as bad, thanks to some jerkwads who kept complaining about an imagined homosexual subtext in pretty much every thread. Even the presence of some of the writers on the official forums couldn't make them worth reading, though. To get good forum discussions, you had to go to the Ragnar Anchorage fan-run site.
Thankfully, for TSCC fandom we have this site, The Turk hangs out here, and pretty much everyone here is an intelligent adult whose posts are actually worth reading. We don't even have an annoying level of "OMG (insert actor/actress here) is sooooo HOT!" fluff, just enough to provide flavor amongst the thoughtful posts nitpicking the plot. This site makes TSCC fandom a heck of a lot more fun and rewarding than it would be without it.

They had a fairly decent SLIDERS BB board, kept it for a bit then discarded it recently and then decided to bring it back after they started reairing episodes. The nitpicking the details around here is actually one of my favorite parts of the site. It's great to see people point out the smallest details that may have been missed on the first or second viewings.

I was banned again. You wanna know the funny thing? I haven't posted on there in days.
A mod there must really hate my posts.

Depart From Me, where your posts deleted as well? I didn't see any from you but your nick sounds familiar.
I agree with you on the lack of moderation. A couple of weeks ago, I was being flamed *heavily* by two trolls (personally, I think it was the same person with 2 accounts,) did not in any way reply to them, and yet I'm the one that got hand smacked by a mod for daring to start the thread. (Long story, won't give details, but trust me, the thread wasn't offensive if you don't count troll flames, and I was careful to ask around *before* starting it.) The trolls didn't get banned until more than a week later, or so it seems.
My husband is a mod for a popular online game and he can't believe how badly the Fox TSCC forum is run, nor what it lets people get away with.
I had joined that forum since I'd heard (verified) that the cast and crew will read some of the posts. Now I don't bother to post and only occasionally lurk. If I really feel the need to comment on an ep., I'll post it on the writer's blog page.

I don't know if my posts were deleted, but I did have about 500 or so, so it is possible that you seen me on there (I had the same name on there that I do here).
I was also the one who had his quote for TSCC appear in USA Today.

I was also the one who had his quote for TSCC appear in USA Today. That's cool I was the one that BAG mentioned in an interview as complaining about his hair. LOL! (For the record, my negative comment was at the end of a long post praising the episode.)

Yee gads--- well I think network forums on the whole are pretty yuck. Actually the nicest one I have been on is the one for Supernatural on the CW site- the Smallville one is ship wars central....thankfully the SN boards are all about how much we all love the boys! It is pretty much unanimous.
I am glad everyone likes the tone over here. I don't post too often as I am pretty busy with my other stuff- but I always read through the episode discussion threads from beginning to end- not the spoiler ones- but the non-spoiler threads.
One of the things about forums- most shows- the majority of viewers never go into forums and when they do they are shocked when they stumble onto really nasty ones. It doesn't do anyone any good to have a disorganized site.

It doesn't do anyone any good to have a disorganized site. Agree. What I don't like is going into a seemingly innocent thread and there's vulgar post after vulgar post. Let alone some of the thread titles alone. It's one thing to say you find an actor or actress attractive, another to get X-rated about it. Ditto about threads that trash an actor/actress. Makes you want to scream, "Hey, there are 16 yr. olds on the board! And many of us have kids who read over our shoulder because they like the show too." I don't expect forums to be G-rated, just that their members show some discretion, and mods to delete or edit vulgar posts and obvious trolling. Lastly, I'm not knocking mods in general, nor forums. I've been involved in fandom of various shows for 20 years and been a mod on a couple of boards myself. I know it's a hard job....and...I'll stop typing now...

Unlike FOX we do our best to keep it at least family friendly around here. I think Erika and Kate have given us the right balance, when it comes down to it. Can't honestly say I've been in FOX's forums.
