Mmmm, interesting.
Funny, I've always found The Terminator to be a celebration of the human potential to surmount all that is nasty, brutish and short about life - sacrifice and altruism, as Josh Friedman said: it's not just about surviving, it's about surviving well.

Well, that was...an interesting analysis... Still, nice to see the NYT write a review about the show!
Not sure I understand this comparison:
Anyone want to explain?

Well that's cool - better than the usual "Summer is hot!' reviews.
Comment - Gidget - carefree bubblegum beach films.
On the beach - classic Neville Shute film about the last survivors on Earth in Australia after a nuclear Holocaust and the characters decisions on how to spend their last days as the nuclear clouds make their way over the entire earth.
Bloody brilliant book btw.

I don't think the writer of that article has seen the Terminator movies.

One would think that would be necessary before even sitting down with the series.
