John should drive.
They should both wear seatbelts.

It sounds like this episode is replaying the crazed AI from Aliens. I recall Bishop (Lance Henriksen) went nuts under stress and caused most of the crew deaths.
It'll probably be the same on the sub. Crazed AI gets crew killed. I doubt it will be as good as Aliens. Lance Henriksen did an awesome job with the Bishop AI.

Not Bishop, Ash.
Bishop was the "synthetic" in Aliens. Ash (Ian Holm, later Bilbo) was the synthetic in Alien - the crew was unaware that he was synthetic. And he didn't so much wig out under pressure as followed Company orders to protect the creature and ensure its return to Earth. He was indirectly responsible for Kane, Dallas and... urgh, Harry Dean Stanton's (can't remember the character's name) deaths but only actually tried to kill Ripley.
I don't think it's as simple as the terminator going bad that sets Jesse off... she even accepts that the resistance has a choice between using a machine to drive the sub or not use the sub.

Thanks k8ie! I kept wondering why I couldn't find a credit for Lance Henriksen in Alien. I'd forgotten the synthetic was played by a different actor.
It would be fun seeing a Terminator go bad in a confined space like a sub. But, you're right, it could be something completely different that twists Jesse.

And also, from a structuralist point-of-view, I'd like the recurring "Sarah gets kidnapped/shot/stabbed/pinned-in-wreckage by a terminator and tells John to leave her behind" (see T2, the pilot, S&D) trope resolved. Or I'd like to see it evolve so that it's less the default position and more the choice of last resort. I'm actually on board with the John we saw in Desert Cantos. I can see that guy stepping up and hauling his mom out of her latest wrecked minivan... It's just a fact - Sarah and John working together are more effective than either working alone. Yep, definitely, I'm with you. And karma! for using semiotics

I would hate to see Cameron get killed off. I would lose all desire to watch the series if that happened.

Ok I just got off of the phone talking to a guy who's one of the guest stars in the episode and he cleared this up for me - the first and second parts of these eps have different titles. Interview coming tomorrow

Well the official production blog said that this is still Today is the Day - Fox is confusing the heck out of everyone.

Maybe it's kinda subtitle or something... Like "Judgement Day" and "Rise Of The Machines" were to the Terminator movies...
