I hope John's life or death choice isn't to side with killer robot instead of common sense again

Isn't Jesse supposed to bite the dust? I think that's who they're probably referring to.

Oh, you're probably right. Uh-oh, I hope John doesn't kill again. Savior of the mankind and killer doesn't really go well together.

In fact if you want to look at things backwards John became a killer when he sent Kyle back to become his Father.

Yeah, you're right. All that stuff about valuing human life was just for fun.

MOD NOTE:
Now, now - none of that. Debates over John Connor's character belong in the character thread. You want to hold a debate over how the show deals with killing, the consequences, the morality etc. go start a thread on the non-spoiler board.
Spoilers and speculation only here, thank you kindly.

Wait, you modded me?!!!!!!!! LOL I totally deserved it, didn't I? It's all Ross's fault! Okay, so back on topic... If Sarah stashes John with Charley in ep 20, then perhaps John's life or death decision in this episode isn't about killing anyone, but about doing something that gets himself wounded. That would be a good reason for Sarah to have to seek out Charley, right?

Wow, what a coincidence. I was just saying The. Exact. Same. Thing. To. Someone. On. Chat.
Great minds, eh?
It would be major wish-fulfilment for me to see John try and save Sarah's life for a change - reversal of all those times we've seen Sarah stick John behind her as the bullets start to fly.

I'm thinking he might get the "You can not risk yourself even for me. Do you understand?!" speech again after that.

I'm thinking he might get the "You can not risk yourself even for me. Do you understand?!" speech again after that. I'm sure he would but that's why I'd like to see it come up again. If for no other reason than the risks John can reasonably take at 16 are greater and different than those of a 13-year-olds. After all, we let 16 year olds drive.

I always got the impression from when Kyle was talking about him like John Connor was the type of man that didn't think himself above others. Like he fought alongside them. He acted like their life was worth just as much as his. I think when/if they show John risking himself for his mother it's like it shows the seed of who he will become. He was a boy that was raised with his mother telling him that he was more important than anyone's life including her own and he risks himself to save her... it just has such a deeper impact of how selfless John Connor can be and how much value he places on every person's life.

^^ Yes, that. Karma.
And also, from a structuralist point-of-view, I'd like the recurring "Sarah gets kidnapped/shot/stabbed/pinned-in-wreckage by a terminator and tells John to leave her behind" (see T2, the pilot, S&D) trope resolved.
Or I'd like to see it evolve so that it's less the default position and more the choice of last resort. I'm actually on board with the John we saw in Desert Cantos. I can see that guy stepping up and hauling his mom out of her latest wrecked minivan...
It's just a fact - Sarah and John working together are more effective than either working alone.
