ITA - I like that the human villains have been far more troublesome than the mechanical ones.

awesome find. Wow, Derek's comments about John are very similar to fan comments on the boards. John's angst this season is even more irritating then his emo persona last season. Nice to finally hear a character express the fans frustration. Why would Sarah possibly think a Doctor is a common house burglar? That's a little nuts. You don't slap around citizens making six figures. That can bring serious police heat. Moishe is mentioned in both vid clips. Apparently Jesse somehow gets Derek dragged into a dispute with him. Then that leads to a burglary at the Connor's house. Andrew Ableson plays Moishe in the next 3 episodes. us.imdb.com/name/nm0008813/who is Moishe? he wasnt in any past episodes was he? oh well. i cant wait till Monday. thank goodness the Phillies won. Now I can finally watch TTSCC with out stupid baseball intrupting

As for John not being/becoming this "great military leader" (as Furlong puts it), is it absolutely necessary he has to be that? The future that Kyle and the first T800 came back from, the future that the second T800 and the T1000 came back from, and the future Cameron and Derek came back from, doesn't seem to be affected: John Connor exists in those timelines, and he won't magically wink out of existence. Present-time John has gone through a very different development compared to the original John Connor from T1, the man who did become the leader without any timetravel intervention. Since his experiences have been very different, he won't necessary turn out the same person he "used to be" in the original timeline (which still exists, I suppose, as Terminator timelines appear to coexist).
But for present John, there are more pressing matters: stopping judgment day is what's important. Present John's skill with computers, and his relationship to Terminators, may be key here. It's not necessarily so that TSCC is just rethreading the path of the movies: peace with Skynet/the machines could be an option here, as is stopping Skynet before it gets any power. Neither of those options require John Connor to be a bad-ass military leader and messiah.

I took another look at the pool scene with Jesse and Derek. Everyone at the pool is in swimsuits or summer clothes. Derek is there in a camo coat, shirt and pants. Is the costume designer making a weird fashion statement or is there a reason for the jacket? BAG must be roasting in that thing.

Maybe it's some type of bizarre byproduct of spending extended amounts of time underground?

Seriously, why couldn't he just leave the jacket in the truck?

I guess it is kind of silly for him to be wearing it while it's obviously quite warm outside, but I love him in that jacket, so I'll overlook that little detail

The clothing choices of everyone in 'Team Connor' has more to do with the Producers sticking to some preconceived notion of how many fanboys expect them to dress, hence you have Sarah & Cameron clomping about in combat boots and often looking more than a little ridiculous. As for BAG well even Pimps & Dealers will usually make an attempt to dress for the occasion, so yeah lose the jacket. If you need/want to carry a firearm, put it in a pancake holster under a lose shirt.

Actually, I think its more likely that while it's warm in the sun, the ambient temperature is probably coolish, which is my experience of LA in the fall.
As for Sarah, eh, she looks like someone who hasn't thought about fashion since 1983. It kind of works for me.

I don't actually understand all the jackets either. You really don't need a jacket out here. I've survived for years with only a sweater. Fall in LA can be a toss up, this year we've had some record hot temp's this October, like 90+ degrees.

LOL - when I was in Cali in November a couple of years ago, I had all kinds of weather from bathing suit to jacket (and sometimes in the same day) but the Los Angelenos were wearing winter coats. I've always assumed its what you're used to - my friend who lives in WeHo but grew up in Colorado has a winter coat for going home but spends most of her year in short sleeves while her Angeleno friends dive into winter coats. Narratively speaking, I think the jacket is meant to hide his gun and probably indicate how much he's still future!warring while Jesse is definitely getting on with the good life but as someone who's visited Cali in early winter it didn't scream 'unrealistic' at me.
