Charlie will die. John will take down Jesse. By the end he will have no women in his life, out of Cam, Sarah, and Riley >> one will die, one will leave him, and one will betray him.
Well, leaving aside the high probability that Dekker is playing with us on Josh's orders, here's my take.
Riley obviously is the one to betray him. Also, they made it clear that Riley survives her suicide attempt. So let's assume she's not the one who dies. She could also be the one who leaves him, however, which is only logical if she betrayed him as well..
Note that nothing in the statement made indicates that ALL THREE EVENTS BELONG TO THREE DIFFERENT WOMEN! So Riley could be both betrayer and leaver.
The other possibility is that Cameron leaves John. That would not be that bad, since we already know that she spends time in the library, and that event would agree with my notion that once Cameron thinks she can survive on her own in human society, she might well leave John if she thinks she no longer needs him. That might also be counted as a "betrayal" by John - even if Cameron continues to fight against Skynet on her own or occasionally helping John. Thus Cameron could be both leaver and betrayer.
Cameron could even turn bad temporarily causing her to both betray and leave him. And that would allow Summer to remain on the show, although a lot of people might be really irritated at the character change. But if it was handled right, it wouldn't bother me that much.
As for who will die - well, killing Cameron kills the show. Dead. Permanently. Fergeddaboudit. Seriously. Summer Glau is fifty percent of the show. Killing her off permanently, removing her from the show, will absolutely totally kill the show. The fans would desert immediately. No question. End of story.
I would consider it strange if they kill off Sarah Connor, given the title of the show. However, there is precedent - namely, "Blake's Seven". Blake got killed off and the show continued on for some time (even with fewer than seven main characters most of the time), with Blake turning up alive at the end only to be killed by the show's lead character at that time, Avon. Made for a really twisty end of the series.
No doubt Josh and the writers could try to do a "Blake's Seven" twist. It could work, although there are so many people who like Sarah and Lena that I doubt it will work, unless the Sarah character somehow remains involved via VO's or flashbacks.
Having Sarah and John split up, however, would make some sense. You'd still have Sarah around, but John would be running his own show, presumably with Derek in tow as his main protector now that Cameron has removed herself.
It's extremely doubtful that Sarah would betray John in the sense of trust. Betray him in the sense of competence has already been her problem, but that's not likely the sense they're using in this regard. So Riley can betray and Cameron can betray, but not Sarah. So Sarah either has to be killed or leave. Take your pick.
Either Riley or Cameron can betray and/or leave or die. Take your pick. But, again, killing Cameron is killing the show.
The whole question is, who dies? Riley is the obvious one. Once revealed as a betrayer, she has no value to John and no point to the story line. So kill her off.
The logical result is: Riley betrays and dies, Cameron betrays and/or leaves, and Sarah leaves or dies.
Again, killing off Cameron, although I feared several times this season that Josh intended to do that, is simply madness. Unless Josh has decided to wrap up the show this season and not even try for a third season, it would be utter madness, and Josh has indicated he isn't that crazy.
Again, killing off the character the show is named after would be bizarre, but it has been done before. And as we've seen with Cromartie, it doesn't mean the actor can't continue on or come back in a later season.
NOT killing off Riley would be a serious mistake once her role is revealed to John. I mean, really, there is no chemistry between the two and Riley has absolutely nothing to contribute to the Connor fight against Skynet. She's a pawn, nothing more. So what possible good could come to the show by keeping her around for another season? She HAS to die (or leave) for that reason alone.
As for Charley dying, that is a serious mistake, in my view. Charley should be recruited into the team for a whole host of reasons I've listed over in the shipper thread. The only good reason for killing him off is if Dean Winters isn't making enough money on his contracted episodes and needs to be released so he can do other projects.
John taking down Jesse, that would be OK - although as I've indicated earlier, it would be more fun if Derek was the one to actually kill her after he learns what her agenda and her tactics are. We know Jesse has to go - once her plot is revealed, like Riley, she no longer has any point on the show.
As for "no women in his life", how do you run a third season with just John Connor? Nope, not going to happen. Every female viewer would desert the show, even if they're entranced with Thomas Dekker...
Tom did say that if there is a third season, based on the back nine, it would look like "an all-new show". So that's a hint that the producers are thinking about major changes in the show.
But if they kill off Cameron, as I've said, forget it. The only way the show could recover from that would be to cast Angelina Jolie somehow.
A total recast of the show with the exception of Thomas would be seen by everyone as a desperation move, and the show would instantly tank even if it got renewed.
Bottom line for me: IF it's not a misdirection ploy, I see Riley betraying and dying, Cameron somehow being split off from John, and Sarah also being split off from John. But both Lena Headey and Summer Glau remain on the show.
Or the show simply ends this season and that decision has already been made, despite Fox exec Reilly saying otherwise.
