If HK's have eyes then they can wear glasses and you can't hit someone who's wearing glasses.

She comes off as plain....I don't get the wife of Connor vibe from her at all thus far.

I have a feeling seeing her in an actual picture from the film will change that.

Maybe, but at the moment - not convinced with McG's casting choice. Regardless, I'll sit out this PG-13 Terminator trilogy.

TBH i'd prefer Michelle Monaghon to play Kate cos she's proven that she can handle a gun and has no problem with action scenes.Maybe my opinion will change when i see the trailer with her in it.

Or they could get Claire Danes again.

She's far too young to play the part...seeing as how well quite a bit of time has passed.

The movie is supposed to take place in 2018. John was born in 1985 which means that he's 33 in the movie. Since Kate was supposed to be in the same grade as John, she should be about the same age. Claire Danes was born in 1979, which makes her 29 years old. Charlotte Gainsbourg was born in 1971, which makes her 37 years old. They're both 4 years away from Kate's age. With make up, it's much easier to make someone look older than younger.

I still vastly prefer gainsbourg...she's an even better actress than Danes..which is saying alot.
I think people are mostly worried because she's French and unknown stateside.

I'm going to sit this one and see where it goes. We're in new trilogy territory any way.
So here's to it!

Strike fears lead to "Terminator" cast change By Gregg Goldstein and Borys Kit 1 hour, 28 minutes ago LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to replace Charlotte Gainsbourg in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins." Gainsbourg was originally set to play Kate Connor, the wife of human resistance hero John Connor, played by Christian Bale. The actress had to bow out because of scheduling conflicts with another film, a French comedy. Production on the fourth entry in the "Terminator" franchise, directed by "Charlie's Angels" filmmaker McG, is already underway in New Mexico. If an actors strike were to happen after the Screen Actors Guild expires on June 30, shooting would stop and then restart at a later date, potentially butting heads with the French film. Gainsbourg was last seen in Todd Haynes' "I'm Not There," while Howard last starred as Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man 3." Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

Actually there's talks of the SAG contract being extended a Day at a time beyond the last da of the contract so no filming would have to be shut down on any set.
And to be really honest I think it's obvious even to SAG wether they admit it or not...that it's unlikely they'll get a better deal than the AFTRA one. I suspect they'll wait and make us sweat and then accept similar terms.
