As I'm always fond of a good conspiracy theory let me throw this one out. Once again I'll reaffirm my position that I think it's Cameron. This week we've seen video and pics of a photoshoot that Summer Glau did for the October issue of GQ. Now normally when a publication does an interview with an actor currently involved in a production they acquire the commercial rights to promotional stills of the actor for said production and then tack on the obligatory nothing new interview and churn it out. However the photoshoot for GQ was all about one thing - Summer Glau not Cameron. This type of shoot is the sort of thing you see from an actor who is aware of the need to create an image beyond that of Cameron/TSCC.
If Summer Glau is half ways intelligent, and there's no reason to believe she's not, then she needs to be thinking beyond TSCC. The nature of the acting game is one where she may well be working her backside off at the moment filming the second series but if FOX don't sign off on the final nine episodes, or simply drop the series completely at the end of the current thirteen episode run, then she may well find herself out of work for months before she gets her next break.

There is also something called promotion. And as someone mentioned Summer seems to be the promoting face from the show. You think they wouldn't know how to use her beyond FOX related promotion? All her new appearances in magazines have nothing to do with her being killed off. It's promotion in a different way. A lot of show actors do that.
Because TSCC as a show will be associated with Summer since that is what she is currently involved with. Be it men or women magazines. It's advertising for the show and Summer. And in no way does it have anything to do with being killed off. It's called clever marketing.

Conversely though it's clever marketing on her part if she knows the show is on borrowed time. After all early in her career she found out how easy it is to have the rug pulled out from under you in regards to FOX canning Firefly.

Thus far all we have mixed opinions on whether or not the show is going to last and that really doesn't account for much, when it comes down to it. Warner Bros. and FOX are holding all the cards and their hand is clearly kept out our eye sight until they see fit. So the situation as of now, remains that the series is still on the air and at this point marketing and interviews are purely for marketing purposes to draw audiences in.
Discussion of the character death follows suit in regards to thing. It's cut and dry this early on. Especially considering the interviews of magazines are taken either early in the month or at least a month prior. In regards to this particular article considering it was pre-air of episode one, so it matches up with the standard publicity tied into earlier mentions.

When Lena Heady went on Craig Ferguson and Brian Austin Green went on Ellen DeGeneres, they didn't talk much about TSCC. They talked way more about their personal lives than about the show. That's because promoting the show was only part of the agenda for talk show hosts, their main job is to entertain the viewers. It's the same thing with magazines, promoting an actor's current projects is not the only reason why they do interviews. The fact that GQ did not focus on Summer's part on TSCC is not an indication that she's no longer going to be on the show. It's more of a sign of her growing popularity. One thing a lot of magazines want is to get actors who are on the verge of becoming a big star. Summer Glau's popularity is obviously rising so magazines want to get interviews with her now so they can tap into that growing audience, help promote her, and open the way for future interviews when she becomes a huge hit. Of course, the more popular Summer becomes, the more the network and producers will want her to stay.

That guy's an ass.
I'm now thinking that Cromartie is going to get it - he won't 100% die but will have to get facial reconstruction again since he's now too recognizable.

I think that would set up a very nifty direction for the show IMHO. It would be something totally different from what's come before.

I don't like that idea, at all. Be glad that the chances of it happening are slim...but I still think it's kinda cool.

If it's Cromartie who gets the ax, I'm gonna be real sad. He is my second favorite character (Sarah Connor being no. 1). He's definitely my favorite villain.

I'd certainly buy it, in fact it could be just the panacea for a series desperate to attract a wider audience beyond the already converted Sci-Fi fans. Lets face it of the core characters in this series John Connor has always been the one along for the ride. If you'll pardon the Chess analogy Sarah is undoubtedly the Queen while Derek & Cameron are the two Knights. John being the King may on paper look good but in reality he's little more than a figurehead and just as in a game of Chess is totally reliant on the Queen and her Knights in order to survive.

I really would rather John be killed off than Cameron. John dying would just set this show apart from all of the other Terminator mythology and do it in a shocking and unexpected way.

Speaking for myself, I doubt that I'd continue with the show without Sarah. I only saw T3 twice (since it came out) because it's just not interesting without her. I've seen T1 and T2 at least 10 or more times. IMHO Sarah is the heart and soul of the Terminator saga. I have no interest in T4 either.
I can't imagine Shirley Manson committing to the show for more than a season or two. She's too big of a star. She's got her music career, and she could easily transition to movies.
I think Catherine will live just long enough to get skynet started. It'll be at a point where it has gov support and protection. Shutting it down would be very difficult. Catherine's purpose will be fulfilled and she'll get killed off.
