What are your theories on Cameron and her motives?
Use this thread to discuss them and when season 2 rumors/spoilers start coming use this thread to discuss them.

I would like to see her go bad, since she is different and seems stronger and faster then normal Terminator's could the Connor's kill her?

If Cameron does go bad then I hope it's permanent. The whole "character going bad for a couple of episodes then turns good again but loses everyone else's trust" plotline is pretty worn out.

I agree.

Depends on the writers, but the whole prom thing just screams a terminator version of Carrie.
My take on Cameron is that they have set it up so she could go bad at any time. But I'd expect it to be shortlived. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a T2 and had her become more human like.

I would like to see them push her development further. That she becomes more human. Eventually I want her to become self aware (if it's possible). That she is able to make decisions all by herself, not neccassarily based on her missions, what she is told to do or through math like she does now.
And then she can go bad or stay good. But I want it to be a decision that she makes. Mainly because it's more interesting and her decision would be influenced by how she sees the world and how the people close to her treat her. I don't want it to have anything to do with a chip malfunction or some crap like that. It's way to easy that way IMO. It would feel like they played right into the 'sometimes they go bad' line she said in the future.

I'm hoping the "sometimes they go bad" line was a red herring, unless there's some greater significance to the "nobody knows why" part. Surely a robot displaying unexpected behaviour is very important and may hint to some important aspect of the Terminator psyche which we we as yet know nothing about. I like the idea that underneath the impression we have that the machines are really much more complicated and nuanced than we at first believe.

I don't think it's an accident that Cameron said "sometimes they go bad." We don't know how she's different yet, but she said she was and that line suggested it as well. And yeah, I also like that the T-888s have more complex behavioral skills that the T-800s. It makes it a lot more interesting and unpredictable.

Well John better start thinking up of a really good logical paradox for when Cameron goes bad.

I can see Cameron doing something unexpected. But I do not see her ever turning into a villain on the show.

I don't think she will WILLINGLY turn bad...but something might happen to her that triggers her to return to her ORIGINAL programming or at least have access to parts of it.
Which could be really bad.

I'd like it if Cameron "going bad" had something to do with her programming also. Her compulsive and secretive collecting. If there was some program embedded inside of her chip that... she is even unaware of. She is a more advanced model. What if Skynet took precautions against reprogramming. Maybe that's a little too Battlestar Galactica. LOL!
Also, there's something about the time travel that I like. I had an idea that Cameron may be in a time loop of her own which... What leads her, in the future to be in John's service? Why does she come to the past? What is her agenda with future!John. I think it would be cool if somehow... she was evil at some point in her loop. Or that her agenda for John seemed... evil at times. I dunno.
She's a wonderfully interesting, mysterious character. Right now she doesn't really answer to anyone. One thing is for sure, she'd never directly hurt John. No matter how "evil" she gets, she should never hurt John.

I can see something like what's in T3, when Arnold is reprogrammed by TX. Something triggers a hidden program which makes her go bad, but then she overcomes it.

I think that a good Cameron vs. evil Cameron episode is almost inevitable. She is a Terminator so there's more than one copies of her. Skynet could have sent a Cameron model Terminator back. Heck, one of the ideas for T2 was to have a good Arnold vs. an evil Arnold.
