What made you sad about the finale script? Sad for your character?
Glau: First of all, I'm just sad to be at our finale. I love the show, and I love my cast and my crew. It's just always hard. The word finale is always hard for me. It's hard to walk away from the show, hopefully for just a little while, because I'm very optimistic about us getting a third season. But a lot happens. A lot happens, and the last few episodes especially, I just think people are going to be on a roller coaster wondering what's going to happen next. That's all I meant. I think everybody's going to be really thrilled and really proud of where the storyline goes. But as an actress in the show I have a lot of emotions about it. It's the most beautiful character. I love playing her, and she's gone above and beyond what I ever thought I could do in two seasons on TV, and that's been a huge blessing for me. Cameron is so complicated, I couldn't possibly imagine this storyline. I'm glad that Josh is the writer and I'm the actress. I think everybody's going to be shocked at what happens at the end of this season. It's not the ending.
Actually I'm feeling pretty confident this is saying Cameron doesn't die.

Interesting find, thanks!
I'm with T101: it doesn't sound like Cameron will die. By what Summer is saying, "a bit sad", "It's the most beautiful character" and "Cameron is so complicated", together with the "Dekker tapes", I suspect Cameron is the one leaving John. Probably to help him, if her presence is the source of major conflict between the resistance and Jesse.

I think the writers are too smart to kill off any of the main characters - they could leave us thinking they're dead, but always find a way to bring them back. It's sci-fi after all. But I mean, for obvious reasons, they can't kill John, cause then it really is over and the robots win and all that stuff. They can't kill Sarah; it's the Sarah Connor Chronicles, the whole point of this show was to give Sarah a new chance at life, it's her show. And then, killing Cameron is killing the show, because Summer Glau brings along a huge sci-fi fanbase, they can't afford to risk it. But I do believe that, in spite of it being said to be a wrap-up in case the show doesn't pick up for the 3rd season (and Josh is just too cool to leave us amazing fans hanging) it'll be, at the same time in some weird but genius way, an extremely frustrating cliff-hanging moment. Man I can't wait. 56 hours and 45 minutes left! (as of this very moment, for me anyway )

Today at the live chat:
[Comment From ronnie k] Summer Glau indicated in an interview this week that she had just read the script for the season finale, and that she was shocked and sad. What was your reaction to the finale script?
thomas dekker: Oh my Ronnie K, I would say the same reaction that Summer had. It's again written by Josh, himself, and I think his scripts are the strongest. It leaves the season in both an exciting and devastating limbo. I hope we can continue on from there, just so I can see what Josh will do next."[/b]

I strongly suspect that we're back to the "Cameron betrays John" story.
I agree with Summer. It makes me sad to and yes, deeply disappointed.

Cameron and John have been on the outs for too long. I wish he would appreciate her, but sounds like she is going to be even further alienated from him.

To the contrary, she talked about Cameron being a "beautiful character", which doesn't seem to indicate betrayal. In a chat, Josh answered a question about whether Cameron would attempt to do something about her damaged chip, and he said "yes". The sad part may be connected to do that. Maybe she has someone remove it, or she decides to leave to not risk "the timebomb" in her head going off while John is close. Both of those possibilities could be described as "leaving" (in the first case, the chip could still be put back in, as long as nothing happens to chip or body).

I know Josh in a statement said that three cast members would die off. And that there would a closer bond developing between Cameron and John but not too close. Not in those exact words though.
I dont see how they could get rid of Cameron, Sarah or John in any way and keep the series intact.
Summer Glau is very tactful in every interview I have read or seen. She doesnt like to burn any bridges by making an improper comment.

Someone will die apparently. I think that the main trio are safe. If they want to keep it open for a third series, Cameron (or Glau specifically) is safe.
I think it could likely be Ellison since his character arc seems to be moving towards a conclusion.

They can't kill Sarah; it's the Sarah Connor Chronicles, the whole point of this show was to give Sarah a new chance at life, it's her show. hum i'm not agree with that. It's the sarah connor chronicles the important word is "chronicles" so it can means she could die.. The fear about her cancer still present. And if we read spoiler, sarah is afraid about her life in the last episode that's why she asks to charlie to protect john. So i think she could be really in danger and may be die... But the main risk is that if we don't have another season that means something like "the story continues in the movies, see terminator4!" And then, killing Cameron is killing the show, because Summer Glau brings along a huge sci-fi fanbase, they can't afford to risk it. it's a big risk for the audience but cam is a machine so even if she died another cam could come back in a future episode. Don't forget it's a sci fi tv show and everything is possibile. Every charcter could die and reborn or safe. They could travel in the time again for exemple... i think we can be suprised in the end of this season and may be see a main character disapear for the moment...

I just watched the footage from Wondercon. One of the best questions was to Summer: "Are you happy with where Cameron is by season's end?"
She really hesitated and asked Josh for help. She then said that she's both "sad and excited" and then proceeded to say she really hopes there's a Season 3. I think that tells us that Cameron will certainly still be in the show. What will happen? I'm not sure. But I agree that Summer is the reason the show survives. The deaths of some characters would be a loss to the show (like Ellison or Derek). But if they kill Cameron, they kill the show.
