I wonder what could happen once JC and JH eventually defeated Skynet. With no common goals, with no common enemies, will they still be allies? Will they still be "friends"? Or perhaps there's a new storm coming...(?) Oh Gosh, I need more TSCC...
Definitely a new storm. Assuming I'm on the right tack with Weaver's plan, it sounds too good to play out the way she wants, so I would expect it to backfire or at least be really messy...
The pride of man, of parents as well, makes us believe that anything we create, we can control. Whether from clay or from metal, it is in the nature of us to make our own monsters. Our children, our alloys, all, built from our own imperfect flesh. We animate them with magic, and never truly know what they will do.
There's just no way John Henry can turn out good. if changing a wire changed him, imagine how different he'll be now that he's untethered, has a chip in his head, might have Cameron on that chip too and he's just left the only room he's ever known to leap into the future. So even if everything starts to work out right, I have a feeling John Henry is going to be trouble. I think he's going to see humans as inferior and completely expendable.
I read someone suggest that Weaver was disappointed by the humans on the sub - ie her "humans will disappoint you" comment to John Henry was an empirical observation.
I wonder if rescuing Savannah changed Weaver's mind about John - if, once she realized who he was, she decided she could establish a relationship with him on a different level. That John, unlike the other humans who hated and feared her/its kind, would be amenable to working with machine-based life. And that that is why Weaver dismisses Sarah - she knows that Sarah will never willing work with a machine. At the same time, Weaver understands that the needs of a child will determine a mother's response - Weaver works with humans to help Savannah, Sarah will work with machines for John....
I don't think rescuing Savannah would've made Weaver change her mind about John. That was a human rescuing a human. It would have to have something to do with Cameron. But the Savannah rescue is how Weaver found out about Cameron being a machine, right? So maybe that was the event that made her think twice about aligning with John. Maybe she figured if he was already in an alliance with a machine (Cameron) then he was the right guy for the job.
