Well, I can see that Derek can relate to the notion that once he was this kid who loved himself, and then he became a guy who could shoot Andy Goode in the head and lie about it to Sarah Connor.
Clearly he has issues.
I also remember back in season one when he told John that being behind four walls can do things to your head. It sounded as much like he was talking about his time in the interrogation house as much as explaining Sarah's behavior at Pescadero. He also said in response to John's statement that "some people always fight" that it was "not as many as you'd think."
That all sounded more self-revelatory than expository.
And now he's joined up with Jesse to off Cameron. He's REALLY going to get his nads clipped following that program. If Cameron doesn't kill him, John is going to. Even Sarah might - after all, she let Cameron have a bed in the new house, but not Derek.
Which by the way also turns out to be a mistake since it give him an excuse to be away from the house too much - which should have clued them in that he was up to something, namely Jesse.

I am not interested in this Cameron is bad plot. LOL. Its insane. Derek is okay, but Jesse is a little too persuasive to him. Cameron is only a machine. Its not like she's as engrossing as the internet. I think thats the compoarison they are trying to make.
