Leaving John and Sarah front and center. Followed closely by Derek and likely eliminating any Terminators. And probably Catherine and Ellison. From what we know at the moment, I'd agree. But we know little of the others' various possible importance. I think Catherine presumably working on Skynet is still big in the race. I'd say this, so far, rules out anyone who came from the future (the Terminators, Derek), because someone with heavy implications for the Terminator universe is someone important in the future and, say, Cameron and Derek's current incarnations have already fulfilled their roles in the future war. So their deaths now mean squat for the mythos.

I disagree on Derek since He's a Reese who's determined to continue making big differences in the present. I disagree that it has to be someone with a big important part in the future,Ithink though that those with bigger more Marque names are those in danger of being snuffed.

I don't know if Derek is a big enough name. I mean last season he wasn't even a regular and enough people thought he might not live that long. The only names big enough for me to be shocking in relation to the mythos are Sarah and John. Personally I can't see them dying.

Well Derek became a target when they made him Kyles brother IMHO.
Also I can easily seeing them kill Sarah or John.
In fact the longer the season goes by without the big death...the more likely they ARE the target of the Grim reaper.

To me it still depends on whether they are playing with the word 'death' or not. Technically Terminators can't die since they were never really alive to begin with. So if they are playing with that word there is a chance more than one character could 'die'.
IMO Chromartie really has to go. He is starting to turn into TSCC's own version of Sylar. I know Sylar was/is popular and all but he should have been killed in the S1 Finale. I really don't want to see that with this show. I'm pretty sure they can come up with enough bad guys, human and machine.
Again as long as Sarah, John and Cameron stick around I'm good with everyone else dying. I just hope that in case it is Sarah it won't be due to this stupid cancer storyline. I still can't believe they took this T3 bit for the show. Sarah is a woman who deserves to die in a fair fight. Or close to one because fighting a Terminator for example is not really fair. But battling cancer is never a fair fight. Because in most cases you have already lost before the fight even begins.

I agree with you about Cancer.
However I have to say if it's cancer it's cancer.
Life isn't always fair and IMHO it was a nice change to find out that though Sarah is as hard as they come she can still be done in by something as "unfair" if you will as Cancer.

Yes it's life. And unfortunately in our times cancer has almost become society's #1 reason for dying. And yes some die young because of it. Some live a long life and get it in their high age.
I just hope that if Sarah's death is eventually brought on by cancer it will be after S2. Or maybe even 3. Depending on what timeframe they operate in this Season. There was nothing wrong with Sarah's tests in S1 so I hope it's a slow developing cancer. If they really stick to persuing this storyline.

After watching S&D last night, when Cameron said "don't let him do that again, if I ever go bad again. Don't let him save me", that really opened the door for Cameron to be killed off. Plus, in the preview for the upcoming season, it shows how aggressive and angry she is with John when he tells her he can fix her chip.

Mmm...Cameron is (despite the fact that she is a machine) very in tune with the humans surrounding her. And she gets better at it every episode. So if she notices the changes in John that we have begun to see in the Premiere we might get to see something we call 'trust issues'.
Cameron now knows future and present John. She 'trusted' future John and the John from last Season. But if this changed John from the present seems to be on his way to a different future John than she knows...that's when 'trust issues' come into play.

Well I initially said at the start of this thread that I wanted Cameron killed off but I conceded that that was unlikely as I thought the series was nothing without Cameron/Summer Glau. After seeing last nights episode I'm convinced now that Cameron is the one to get the chop. I'd say what there going to do in Episode 4 is show that in the future there was a real relationship between Cameron & JC, flash back to the present and they create a scenario where Cameron possibly reverts back to her default protocol (again) leaving the Connors with no choice but to pull her chip for good.

Well I hope not. Because I'd really hate to stop watching this show. Or at least not enjoy it that much anymore. Yes I'm that into Cameron/Summer. Besides it would be fairly stupid to kill off the one Terminator that is fighting on the right side. But that's just me.

As much as I love all the other actors (and believe me, I do), Summer is the franchise of this show. If she goes, the majority of the shows viewers go as well. So, unless they plan to conclude this show this very season, I doubt Cameron is going anywhere. I still worry, though. The door is left open for that possibility, but I just don't see them doing that.

It KILLS me to say this, but I also have a feeling that it's Cameron. I think the Turk is a red herring, just like the real Mechanical Turk was a con trick, in terms of Skynet development.
I'm also basing it on some Comic-Con stuff, and thoughts about Cam's development.
I want to be so wrong. I will be so happy if I'm utterly, utterly wrong. Please let me be wrong.

Don't forget that Cameron is also named after James Cameron, that definitely bolds well for her.
