Discuss the possible ship here.

I'm officially stepping onto this ship. God help me this is seriously doomed and complicated as hell, isn't it?
I swear the smirk on Derek's face when he asked John if Sarah had ever killed anyone before and his realizing that her threat to kill him was empty completely sparked the beginning of this as a possible pairing. Color me intrigued...and god help me fanfic plot bunnies are running loose in my head.

Originally, I thought there was a snow balls chance on this one, but I have to say I'm on board with everyone here on it.

I've come around on certain ones more than I have others to say the least.

I really don't ever see Sarah and Derek getting together, but I will say I thoroughly enjoyed the playfulness between then in the kitchen scene where Cameron's adding up the diamonds. That scene felt very out of place because Sarah and Derek are never like that at all. It was totally fun, though.

I also enjoy their interactions. I can see the chemistry there and I won't say it hasn't crossed my mind but... no. I can't ship them.

I can't ship 'em either. There's just something not right about Sarah hooking up with Kyle's brother. Things can change, of course. If there was more cutesy banter between them, like in that diamond counting scene, or they got a little competitive while out on a mission, I could probably be swayed. Right now, though, I don't feel any chemistry between them.

Aww but see it's the whole complicated "she was head over heels in love w/ my perfect baby brother" angst angle from Derek's side and "he's my beloveds BROTHER and is an unpredictable %^@^@#$!^!" from Sarah's angst/confusion that makes Sarah/Derek such a great premise for a ship.
Then again how many other men out there could Sarah really ever be with other than Derek at this point? Not only does he understand Kyle/Sarah and can understand her love for him (and even feed it more by filling in more about his life to her) but at the same time he's the only man who 100% believes her because he has lived smack in the middle of everything.
Sarah meanwhile would be a great source of healing for Derek - the boy who had to grow up WAY too soon, has seen too much misery and is so jaded. Sarah is the great warrior/legend but won't kill.
Yeah Sarah/Derek definitely adds a wonderful layer of hyper tension on the show with it's 2 alphas duking it out for dominance. The tension is already there. If we get several seasons I bet that it'll always be there just smoldering under the surface.
I rather would like for Derek to fall and just be irritated as hell with himself for the feelings that he has for her.

Assuming he stays around for a while, I could see something physical developing between Derek and Sarah over time, just from spending so much time together and not really having anyone else. They have a shared purpose and share a strong connection through Kyle. I don't think they'd ever fall in love, though. I can't see that happening at all.
Actually, setting Derek up as a lover for Sarah makes sense in a way. Sarah loves Charley, but it's a love she can never have. Not only is he married, but her love for him is from a time when she thought the future apocalypse had been averted. For that brief time, she got to live a different life. Now she's back to trying to change the future -- dodging machines, fighting Skynet. It's the dark reality of her life. And Derek represents that perfectly. He's a battle-weary soldier who not only knows about the grim future, he's lived it. He represents the life she lives, while Charley represents the life she can't live.

It does make sense and there are so many reasons I can see it happening but NO. Too dysfunctional. That's not to say it won't happen. I may get some enjoyment out of it if it does happen. I'm a hopeless romantic. But I just can't ship them.
I can't ship Starbuck/Apollo on Battlestar Galactica re-imagined for the same reason.

I could see it physically going somewhere, but I doubt it's going to be healthy transition.

I could see it physically going somewhere, but I doubt it's going to be healthy transition. Indeed. No matter how you slice it, there's just nothing healthy about those two getting together!
