Kudos for the vids! So, anyone have any theories as to how John and Cameron's friendship/relationship will evolve next season? Nothing's really been revealed yet, has it?

Maybe John will be spending more time with her, as she protects him personally and possibly trains him. Just a small idea, but it would add to his fighting skills.

*appears from the gloom* I suspect Cam's going to freak out a bit because she nearly failed her mission - it could have been John in that explosion *very* easily. Based on what we know from various interviews, it looks like Cameron might be keeping a very close eye on him indeed. It's the motivation though, that's the juicy stuff. Cam's emergent emotions might mean this isn't necessarily 100% strategically motivated, and watching her and John deal with that - if it happens, of course - would be compelling. (Edited for typo)

The emotional levels at this point are kind of questionable. We've only seen the Terminator's evolve to a certain point. Generally, they seem to be cold and calculated. Only time will really tell on that evolving growth for Cam and co.

Summer Glau says the girl's "definitely" going to have issues after the explosion.
If Cam was a regular terminator, there would be no issues, period.
I'm not predicting anything necessarily dramatically obvious on the outside. But I think something is going to occur in that super-advanced neural net of hers that's going to complicate things. John Connor is her absolute priority. Don't forget -
"I understand. Without John your life has no purpose." She says this to Sarah because John is the reason to exist for for both of them.
...Of course, I'm fully prepared to be wrong. ;D

I think the line between emotional responses and some of the things Cameron has done already can be pretty blurry. While we've only seen limited evolution in a Terminator (thought this could be argued in relation to T2) we do have an example of a fully independent AI in Skynet, which in Andy's interpretation was "angry" and "scared". Could Cameron not potentially be "angry" for almost dying? Or maybe it's how the others are going to react to the explosion, maybe they leave her there and that'll leave a mark on whatever emotional/unemotional process governs her thoughts.
Seems from all the hints there are some substantial character developments come episode 1 and they are rather to the dark side. If I had to guess I'd say Cameron and John will end up farther apart than they were. Or maybe the opposite, John would be farther from his mother and closer to Cameron and her more sinister influence.

Those are great thoughts!
I like your ideas a lot - I hope that Team Connor wouldn't just leave Cameron, for the simple reason of the risk of the authorities potentially finding terminator parts, let alone any bond John might feel with Cam. But you never know.
Is Cameron more sinister than Derek? Both lie, both kill people, both have hidden pasts and agendas.
And we haven't even touched on the potential impact of Reilly... yeah, I'm going to be really interested in seeing how this all works out.

I'm kind of hoping that at the end of the season premier, when they're all bloodied and beaten, and Cameron's flesh has suffered significant damage, that Cameron would say: "I need a vacation."
The car bomb really isn't the closest that Cameron has come to "death." I don't think that Cameron is "pissed" that someone tried to kill her. A lot of people have tried to kill her. However, more and more humans are trying to kill her. Cameron is having to rely more on her original programming of "kill all humans." Perhaps the more people she has to kill, the more likely she'll revert completely to her original programming.

Oh my, that's nice. "Cameron definitely has some issues after the explosion," she said. "And everybody changes after the first episode." That will be interesting for sure.

Wonder if that means John is going to be getting further hands on time with Cam.

Wonder if that means John is going to be getting further hands on time with Cam. Ratings-wise alone they'd be mad not to. ;D
